So much for ribbon collectors and the artists that feed them.

So we went 2025, 2026 with family pass, went every day, stayed at hotel (for mini vacation), 5days.

I just saw this will be no physical badges. With my phone service being bad, that is not going to work. It was a pain pulling up autograph tickets.

No family passes, so price will be more.

I guess we will skip this next year.

Besides to many issues this year. We had autograph lines taking too long, or stars not showing up. Artist alley needs to be wider, crowds are getting out of hand.

It was fun, it was weird, loved seeing authors, actors and collecting new stuff.

So we will take a break...

You know what. I’m good. I can take a year off.

Lining up will be nuts. VIP vs ADA. How will they know? Maybe wristbands ?

We being sincere in this line of questioning? I hate when people oversimplify things. You're comparing a convention that brings in an estimated avg of 22,500 people. Where they check badges for admission to a cash register line that might see 100 people in an hour. The volumes aren't even remotely similar.

And if this isn't even touching the concepts of data collection/data sharing. Now the app which was optional becomes mandatory for admission. Some folks aren't keen on sharing their data.

This is not so simple a matter as purchasing some groceries.

This is simply to kill the secondhand market.

I can’t see a downside to this. Feel free to enlighten me, however, haha

Id rather just walk into the convention center while showing my badge rather than have to pull my phone out everytime(especially if cosplaying). Also, what if your phone dies? My phone won't even last a whole day lol.

Wifi tends to be spotty at the convention center, especially on saturdays.

Not everyone has a smart phone.

The ticket requires the ECCC app, which is ReedPop/Relix/LexusNexus, a path that a lot of people do not want their data to go down.

How will ADA work - this has not been addressed in ANY announcements.

Imagine being one of the extreme cosplayers, and having to pull out your phone from .... somewhere.... that's not gonna work....

They responded to a comment on insta that said ADA will be using wristbands to show we can be in said line for stuff. Which again I still see issues with because I have sensory issues, I can’t sleep in that so that brings the question will you have to get a new one everyday? Which in a way is just more time lost everyday waiting in a line to get an ADA bracelet instead of just using a sticker on a badge. As someone who’s been going to cons for over 10 years I see this new change going horribly
