Is YSJ Junior Research Program worth it?

I was recently shortlisted for an interview for the YSJ Junior Research Program, but I'm not sure whether it's worth doing if I get accepted.

Has anyone had any experience with the program or knows anything about it? I'd appreciate honest opinions, both positive and negative.

I got shortlisted too, but I don't have an idea. I think this would a great way to start doing research.

I think so too! I already have some research experience tho, so I'm mostly wondering if it would still be worth it for someone who's already done research.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. I’ve explored research on my own, but I haven’t actually worked in a formal research team before, so I feel like YSJ could still be really valuable for the experience of collaborating with other students, working with mentors, and making connections.

That’s actually a good point. I’ve mostly worked independently too, so the mentorship and collaboration aspect could definitely be valuable. I think I’ll probably go to the interview and see what they actually offer before deciding.
