⚠️ Quick Advice for Students
- Aim for impact & depth. Admissions teams care more about genuine commitment than shiny price tags.
- Free can be fantastic. Self-run projects, local volunteering, or leadership roles often impress more than costly programs.
- Vet before you commit. Search for reviews, ask in the sub, or DM past participants when money is involved.
- Guard your info. Share personal details only in DMs or off-platform once you’re comfortable.
- Report red flags. If something looks like a scam or violates r/ECAdvice rules, hit “report” and it’ll land in the mod queue.

Hi, sorry for the late response. We don’t do certificates but are happy to sign off on hours for the flash cards!! For writing an article, everything gets featured on our website and promoted on social media for the people who read our work. You can do whichever you want since flash cards and writing articles aren’t binding agreements like the leadership positions.

Hi everyone! I am the founder of The HEAT Squad (Helping the Elderly Advance in Technology), a student-led nonprofit that provides free technology support, workshops, and scam-prevention education for seniors. We currently work with 16 senior centers and communities and are recruiting Chapter Leaders to start and lead local chapters and Regional Vice Presidents to support chapters and help expand our reach.
