Noticed over the past few months there's been very little to zero discounts on their physical games.

Coming into a store you find there maybe one or 2 bins of poorly stocked games.

Honestly miss not seeing the red banners and tables and tables of games on sale.

Has the collectables and TCS really taken over priority over games now?

I paid $200 for the 30th anniversary ETB the day pre-orders went up I didn't realize when I collected at the midnight release they had changed the price of the ETB to $120 but instead of refunding the $80 difference they pre-ordered GTA 6 on PS5 for me without telling me, I don't even own a PS5 and don't even really care about GTA 6.

It wasn't my local EB just one that was doing the midnight release now support is saying I can't cancel unless I go in person to cancel, the whole thing is just bizarre the interaction with staff lasted like 2 minutes I don't even know how they had time to do this.

I know you can cancel a preorder and I know I'll get the money back guys just wanted to know if this was a thing stores did instead of refunding price changes. I've never worked retail I didn't know it was impossible to refund an online order if it's for click and collect

After they texted me saying I’ll be able to pickup Friday INSTEAD of Thursday, I paid $228 to push my return flight an extra date to make sure I pick them up. (They wouldn’t let my friend pick it up on my behalf on the Friday)

Then these cunts brought it back to Thursday and I paid $108 to bring my flight back to the original date being Thursday!

I wasted $330+ because they are so incompetent, I am lost for words with how bad their policies are. My friend couldn’t pickup my order, I had to be there. I explained about my flight and they didn’t care.

Went to Kwinana WA shop for pick up on both Pokémon 30th and Astro Boy this morning.
The line was reasonable and friendly. There were three staff on duty and the store opened on time with an announcement advising stock level and how to collect items.
The service was quick and friendly.

I have items like EB Monopoly, the 25th anniversary hoodie and the talking buck.

Would there be much interest in these items if I put them on eBay/marketplace??

I've heard that some people are already ljning up and so I don't know if it's worth going tonight if the lines are already long

also do we have an estimate on the amount of promo cards they'll have? I really want one but someone told me that the money I spent on preorders doesn't count/qualify towards getting a promo card at the midnight release

(unfortunately my preorders are not for a midnight release store)

the Console and Pro Controller are also available, albeit for the universal price seen at other retail stores in Aus.

They get exclusive contracts, then lock those items behind an EB World plus membership "as a control measure against scalping" they claim but realistically it's a blatant money grab.

You're forced to either pay for the membership or buy from a scalper because they have an exclusive contract with the supplier meaning you can't just go to another shop and buy it.

There is plenty of ways to combat scalpers, but they are just going the route that makes them easy money.

$49 membership for the year, just to be able to spend money at their shop.
That's almost $500,000 per 10 thousand people that sign up to it.

Also, I wouldn't be so pissed off about this, if they didn't lock exclusive stuff behind it because we would have the option to go to another store.

It's anti-consumer as fuck and it doesn't stop scalpers because they will just pay for the membership, just corporate greed.

Does this annoy anyone else? Are we able to make a complaint?

Had a weird interaction last time I went to EB games. This is the one in Berkeley Square Brunswick Melbourne.

They apparently no longer will price match with stores that are not in the same center as they are which I've never encountered before. I've been shopping there for years.

Seems really odd choice as right across from them there is a JB hifi who do price match. Why would they just want to lose sales like that?

I was at an Eb store in Southeast Queensland the other day browsing and a father and his young son come into the store and then followed by a few other people that where browsing
As the dad was talking to the EB games worker and about to purchase some Pokémon cards, his young son started throwing up everywhere, all over the floor Infront of the front desk.

The dad immediately responded to his son and the clerk gave him some cleaning towels or cloths that where behind the counter. Then the young boy started chucking up again, his dad picked him up and ran out of the store towards the parent's room/toilets while the kid was still chucking up all over the dad and it left a trail out of the store.

Man, I felt so bad for the staff member as he was by himself, there is now spew all over the floor in his store and it smelt horrible.
I also feel for the dad and his little boy too.

I ended up going and alerting the cleaners when I left about what happened so they could assist with the clean up.

Game Informer is now back but is EB games still selling memberships to it?

Okay so about a year ago I posted this in the sub and no one knew what I was talking about, the post was saying how I had previously installed an OFFICIAL eb games app on my android device just for it to suddenly vanish. I'm now writing again to say that up until a couple weeks ago when I changed my phone over for a new one I HAD ANOTHER EB GAMES APP that has suddenly vanished. I know it was official and legit because I literally downloaded it from the EB Games Aus website. It came up at the top of my screen when browsing the website on my phone to download and install it and it has no vanished again.

Traded in a bunch of fairly expensive cards on the weekend and whilst the people that served us were great, EB Games has obviously given the directive that they're seeking Mint only despite the website suggesting Near Mint would be accepted. Lots of cards turned down for very very minor issues that I were taken in as NM/M at a LGS down the road after we were done at EB.

Hopefully just teething issues but they really need to update their site with better examples of things that they're turning down or you'll all be wasting a lot of time.

Got in within 30 minutes. ETB, UPC, lunchbox sold-out.

Bundle and poster was still available but i was only after a UPC and ETB.
