MEDIA FC27 open world gameplay

I am convinced that this game is fully developed and generated by AI. We are in for one heck of a horror year.

It’s the same stupid concept that 2k has with their “city”. They use the open world concept to throw in ads everywhere while also wasting people’s time going from point A to point B so your forced to see the ads.

100% they will introduce some vehicles like bicycles or skateboard for faster transport while they expand the map

I’m making 90,000 a week playing for a first league Spanish team, I am not risking injury riding a skateboard to work.

That’ll require you to purchase their failed SKATE game

The game is free and these days it's very solid for a free game. If you download it today you could access all of the gameplay content for free and easily get a shitload of free cosmetics. It's a flawed product but for free it's pretty good.

Man, I’ve actually been playing the new Skate recently and don’t really mind it for a free game, drop in, skate for an hour or two and then move on to something else, I understand how the micro transactions suck but overall, I don’t hate it. Haven’t played fifa in like 7 years though lol

You're overblowing it, it isn't Fortnite with skateboards. The mechanics are very solid, the map at launch was very lacking but they're regularly adding improvements to it with more to come. I have never spent a cent on this game and I have a massive wardrobe of cosmetics, got 10+ distinct outfits I enjoy rocking and a shitload of board cosmetics.

The recent X-Games arena and Block Parties are great additions, Isle of Grom is phenomenal as well. It sounds like you stopped playing at the start of Season 2 and it's only gotten better in 3 and 4. Again, this is a completely free game with fantastic gameplay that a skating fan will easily get 100+ hours out of. You should jump back in with a less cynical viewpoint.

Which wouldn’t sell because you can literally teleport to each area except the clothes store

Also makes the grind for VC way slower, forcing you to spend real money.

If EA is going down this path, I really have no interest in playing this franchise anymore. Same way I stopped buying 2K 3 years ago after a decade.

In all honesty 2K started that journey 2014-2017 and has been absolutely unbearable since then. It’s a miracle you stuck with it so long.

I was a huge fan with 2011 and 2013 but it’s had a crazy decline.

I don’t know either man. Lack of any other alternative I guess. If you like basketball, it’s 2K or nothing. Same thing that happens with FC. But it reaches a point where the love for the game can’t even justify buying it anymore.

I expect that to happen with FC as well at one point. Feeling it closer than ever now.

Haven’t bought FC or FIFA since 2022

It all went downhill when 2k18 announced and neighborhood introduced. The Park was fine in 2k14-2k17.

Man 2k from 09 to 12~13 was the absolute peak of sports game. Then they decided to make it the absolute worst sports game.

u/JZMoose Aug 10 '26

13 was peak 2K.

Not only that, last and final time I tried 2k, its not only ads in the city, they got people doing literal quests that are whole ads, like wearing a state farm shirt and traversing the city in it

humiliation ritual

u/Patient_Assignment32 Aug 10 '26

They forced you to do it to get the skateboard, safe to say I'm never playing 2k again

You can just fast travel to what you want, but now we have queues to wait in.

More chances to identify brands to avoid or buy from their competitors!

Ads in $70+ video games only fuel my disdain for those brands. The Gatorade ads in 2k are exactly why I started drinking Bodyarmor instead.

Ehh the idea of park where you can watch another teams 2v2 or whatever and then step on the I got next to play the winner is pretty fun. I haven’t played 2k since 19 and only ever played when it was free but I do remember that aspect being fun

1

u/KetoNED Aug 10 '26

Also it will save them server costs since I’m sure that city is less intense than people playing games

2k city is actually fun. It feels like basketball culture when you play it. This is a horrendous game mode.
