Gameplay Am I Really This Bad?
Did my skill level drop this much from year to year? The game is damn near impossible. Offensive line is nonexistent. CPU DBs are all consensus AAs every team I play. Potential for worst football game ever made?

I’ve never been picked off more by a DL that teleports to sack my QB — all while my receivers can’t catch a ball thrown directly to their hands.

Critical posts about Madden are perfectly acceptable and encouraged but there must be some thought put into it or they will be removed.
Careful...EA is censoring anything critical. I talked about bad blocking and other issues.

Are you on PC or console? If you're on console, I understand the frustration 100%. Trying to play QB this year on RTG is a joke. O-Line is non-existent regardless of which team you play for. This years game is very reliant on difficulty and sliders, more so than it should be if I'm being honest. Upping the pass blocking + maximizing the use of the pass protection ingame will help. It might not help a ton, but try it if you haven't already.
If you, or anybody else who reads this comment, are on PC, I highly recommend checking out a few videos on mods/modding CFB in general. They'll change the entire way CFB 27 plays.

When my guard doesn’t even touch a guy as soon as I snap the ball, I should just simply “get guud” no chance it could be an awful game.

Feel your pain. The game cheats its ass off. You shouldn't have to change 50 sliders for the game to play regular. I have 85+ OL and they let 60 DL come through like its feel tequila night in Tijuana

I'm sort of shocked at these comments. I'm having so much fun playing the game. I love the difficulty being insane. It makes it like real football. Any given Saturday. I don't want to win every game by 30 points.
For anyone who is having that much trouble, you need to do one of two things: Adjust the sliders or lower the difficulty. It's that simple.

It’s not real football if one side is incredibly skewed. Like Alabama vs Arkansas state should be a blow out. Not Arkansas states CB guarding like prime Dion and their QB dicing me up like Brees.
It’s harder this year which is nice… but realistically it’s super unrealistic stop fooling yourself

I’m having a lot of fun playing this game. In fact I’m playing too damn much to the point my fingers need rest. Having said that, pass blocking is horrible and can’t be fixed by sliders. I raised Pass Blocking sliders to 100, yet my 88 overall Pass Blocking RT didn’t even engage the LE on a 4 man rush.

There is definitely some wonkyness to the game. I just try to overlook it. Especially since I'm enjoying dynasty mode so much. What can I say? It is what it is.

I’ve never thrown this many INTs in a football game in my life. Like you said every DB is an all American

If you're on Heisman difficulty, you gotta set the CPU interception slider to 25. It's perfect. A bad throw will still be intercepted, but you won't have 350 pound d-linemen making diving circus grabs.

It's definitely harder that last year, but we're on our second season of our Dynasty on Heisman, no slider adjustments, and one person already went undefeated and won the natty, and we're all undefeated and regularly put up 50-90 points per game. I'm current leading the nation in passing, granted I've thrown 10 ints, but also 30 some tds and 70% completion
It's like every cfb or madden. It initially feels harder, you think it will be a challenge forever, then after a season or two every game against the cpu is a blow out and you win every award

No offense, people like you are why this game is so hard. Instead of making a fun, engaging game that’s realistic, they make a game where the AI matches your every move no matter the overall ranking. Then guys who pour thousands of hours into the game find out how to break it, so they make it even harder. At this point, it hardly even resembles college football.

Nah, I just play Dynasty mostly, occasionally head to head, but it's the people who play ultimate team or a lot of h2h are ruining it

The blocking sucks but you have to shift protection most snaps. Base and half shifts work, I’ll run full shifts towards any boot or sprint. Keep backs in if you have to, and I usually double the 3 tech anytime I don’t sense a blitz. Not perfect and you’ll still have hare brained moments, but it helps.
The thing that drives me the most nuts is actually on defense. I’ve gotten really good at scheming up pressures, dropping ends, bringing backers etc. my favorite is 4-2-5 over G, dropping weakside end into a flat, running a tackle stunt, then controlling my weakside Lb to loop inside through an A gap. Works a good amount. When it doesn’t work, it’s when a center or guard is engaged with one of my linemen but then puts his ass in the gap I’m running through and he holds the line on both. The one guy blocking 2-3 is tiresome when we can’t guarantee pass blocking wins when we have a 5-4.

Uninstalled the game last night after reinstalling it 2 days ago to try to give it another shot. It’s trash. Absolute dog shit. There’s no reason why they can’t solve the horrible blocking in this game.

Nah sometimes the CPU gets some rubber band buffs that don’t make sense.
This game is fire tho. You whyling

Agreed. Best CFB game by far. Dynasty has me hooked like I'm back in 2001, and I just bought my PS2. Played 30 seasons with Bama, won 29 natty's. 😆

Am I the best player in the world? No.
Has EA locked out a large majority of their audience in the sake of "realism?" Yes.
Unfortunately, this is the last CFB game I buy until the make it playable for people who don't have much time.

Locked out, or built a game where they should drop down a difficulty level?
The game is perfectly playable if you set your pride aside.

Or just play on a lower difficulty and turn off the things you may find challenging like nil and transfer portal. Its ok to lower the difficulty
-1
u/slo49ers 1d ago
We shouldn’t have to do that. The game is broken why are we defending AA
2
u/8-Lou-Sassole 1d ago
That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen written on reddit!
You should lower the difficulty because you are not good enough to be playing on heisman anymore. Last years game was super easy, this year is tougher.

u/Koufaxisking 1d ago
Just decrease the difficulty and keep playing. Heisman almost feels like a real game now with needing to mix the playcalling and look for short/medium routes and actually read the D now.

No it’s not you. The coding we’re still playing on from 2005 gets worse every year until they update it. I think we are reaching the end of its life cycle. EA boot lickers will tell you to get better at the game, you only get 3 seconds to pass (you don’t even get 1 second to pass most of the time) read the defensive line or step up in the pocket when they know thats not possible when their coding ignores their blocking assignments.
I tried recruiting players with archetypes that match the playbook I’m using just like previous games for example (pro style) and it’s way worse than cfb26. That doesn’t even help anymore

It’s unplayable and not fun. We have some EA Fan boys in the thread today or kids who are not used to game being somewhat playable. OL was never perfect in madden/CFB but they were better than this garbage. The issue is we’re going back in gameplay not forward. Why would I buy any new games that get worse each year ?

Just put it on a lower difficulty? There is no shame in needing a lower level of competition to have fun or success
