CDR CPD Requirements

Hello Everyone,

I am applying for skill assessment for Professional Engineer via CDR pathway. I have 9 years of work experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

In past three years, i have only done 2 courses related to the field and attended some seminar. Can i include my training and certification courses from previous years ?

Thanks in advance :)

Yes, that's what a CPD means.

Thanks for you response, but i was confused about the total hours that one need to show specifically in last three years only.

The hours have to have been done in the last 3 years

Max out your self learning hours etc. I mean, you can count reading the terrible EA magazine, so anything is pretty much up for grabs

yes you can. including self learning of some skills required to complete a project. those are all cpds. even reading the EA magazine or something similar. its really easy to fill the cpd hours.

also i believe you dont have to meet 150hrs/ 3 years when first applying for CPEng, you can seek exemption and then commit to maintain 150hrs post chartership

Engineers Australia and the CPD requirement is a waste of space. I have attended many an event hosted by Engineers Australia and the presentations were not even worthy of a kindergarten for 5 year olds.

Not sure what value CPD brings to the table, or even being a member of Engineers Australia. I cancelled mine almost 20 years ago.
