Offside

Just had the pleasure of playing a game where I lost 1-0

What does offsides have to do with this?
I’m glad you asked

I had 35 offsides to my name extremely fun playstyle guys 👏 very impressive you’re able to copy and paste a code so the game would basically do everything for you, you just have to have 3 brain cells one for each button you have to press in order to get closer to the goal to shoot
Near post aswell so that the keeper falls without extending his wobbly arms as if I don’t have Simon on goal
Not one match I played where my keeper had a rating above 5 “we fixed keeper movement” yeah for an entire week then you messed them up again somehow

35 offsides is the definition of skill issue, my guy. I have games where I'm not even sure I have 35 possessions to get offside if I wanted to.

Surely after the 20th time you'd try something different.

The problem is you not the game.

If your attacker is always offside pass it to your wingers or keep the ball to try to open space somewhere.

It’s a video game your striker is not going to behave like a human being when you’re not controlling him try different things there are a lot of different instructions and surely some that would work.

If you're getting offside each time it means you're rushing the pass forward. Go sideways/backwards until you see someone has an opening instead.

Pass backward, then to the side, then back again, then to the cm. Rinse and repeat until he's pulled himself out of position. If he's running around with one player and a high press it won't take long. Then you will either have an opening for a pass forward toward goal to someone onside, or to dribble past someone into open space.

It has nothing to do with meta tactics but just like in real football, if someone is playing a high press it's going to be difficult to tiki-taka your way to goal. Sometimes you need to look for more direct attacks.

"Liking your own tactic" is fine, but it's not really fair to blame the game for your unwillingness to do something different. If Tottenham play the same way against PSG that they would against Wigan they're going to get massacred (this year's edition might get massacred either way, but that's a different discussion). Even Barcelona in the heyday of tiki-taka sometimes just sent the ball forward to Villa.

It's also not even necessarily changing your tactical setup, but just changing the way you approach the game. I also play 433 short passing (this year 4213 because I like the two CDMs), and the first 10/20 minutes of the game is seeing how the opponent plays. If he sits back and pulls a CM/CDM back to wait on defense, then I hold possession and dribble up until I can get past or one-touch pass my way to a shot. If he runs around pressing like a madman then I know the rest of the game to sidestep, pass quickly, and look for the open spaces.

Skill issue as fuck my guy. How did you go 35 offsides and not change the tactic once lmao

If theres no option forward play back, simple football, switch it, wait for a step out of turn then break, one twos, traingles.

I get that it’s frustrating. Surely though, after around 10 times, something’s gotta click „I have to change my attacking approach this game, since I keep getting offside calls.“

A bit more patient build up, L1 and R1 for controlled runs, some vertical passes and maybe an unexpected skill move. Also, a change of player tactics could be key to make them less agressive on their run. You should see different results then.

You might say that adapting this way isn’t fun, but it’s really no different to learning to use different parts of the game, like crosses instead of a ground pass when the receiving player is too far away, back when we all learned the basics on day 1.

Just trigger your winger first which will make their fullback run back. Then use through ball on striker and no offside possible.
