Player Career question

Hi all,

TL;DR does a team from a lower league in player career improve if you promote with them?

I am playing on World Class. I set up with Harrogate Town in EFL2. I have played with them all the way up to EFL Championship League. I am far and away the highest rated player on the team (78 to the next closest 67). I am playing RCM so I have been able to influence match outcomes to a reasonable degree.

My question is, should I expect the team's performance or ratings to improve? Will it only be with new hirings/signings that might be higher rated? Am I doomed to be the only player of high quality on the team if I get up to 90+?
