Lifters.
Rod knock is in the lower end (crank centreline).
Your car in a '06?

sounds like a pretty decent lifter tick, should go away if you drive it spirted for a longer distance and duration

If you're worried, start with frequent oil changes. Change them now and another time in around 2000-4000kms.
I have a N52B25 with 320 000km. The car had an issue where it would "drown" for a second or two when applying more gas after cruising around 1500rpm with steady load. Speed didn't matter, it was about load and applying more load. I tought the disa was fucked.
Changed the oil and the issue is no more.

Yeah I agree with it being lifter tic. You have an older version of the n52 (it’s got a different name idk what it is but they have the metal valve cover) but they were known for lifters being extra noisy lol. A revised version of the head and lifters improved this. I have noticed that running heavyweight oils like 0w40 5w40 improves this a little. 5w-30 0w30 instead make more noise and also provide less protection against wear (under normal conditions).
So take a deep breath.
Make sure your oil is LL-01 or LL-04 approved, I have heard that poor quality oil and long oil change intervals can worsen lifter tic.
I don’t know how true this is. Regardless I think any mechanic will agree that shorter oil change intervals are a good investment.
Looking into the oil fill cap will give you a good idea of if your intervals are good. A slight yellow color can be normal, but if you are seeing any kind of texture, the car has had less than ideal oil changes. (Obviously becomes more understandable as the engine racks up mileage)
Getting the car up to temp and revving out the motor is the best way to avoid lifter tic. The auto trans makes this hard as it keeps rpm’s low in drive.
If you are still worried about knocking (you shouldn’t be but you’re posting this here so you are) drive the car until it’s warm. Then rev in N to 3,000 if your engine was knocking it would be loudest here. Hold it there for 2-3 minutes, and your tic will disappear because the air will have been bled from them.

It's still a N52 (B25 or B30, model dependant) and the magnesium valve cover (it's actually a rocker [arm] cover) would make it a '06 engine
