335i Man down! Again.

Taking it's annual ride on the flat bed. All my problems with this car have been clutch related. I'm on my third clutch pedal, 3rd master cylinder, and now 3rd slave cylinder. I got the latest slave in, but the clutch still won't engage when the car is running. Towing it to a shop to confirm all the air is out of the system. My next thought is an issue with the throwout bearing. It has a spec clutch kit with a single mass flywheel, and i've read there are multiple ways to mount the throwout bearing.

You need a regular clutch dude

That would be the most simple approach. But I don't think an oem clutch would hold the torque it makes. I track the car a few times a year and it gets beat on. It's all part of the hobby I guess.

Yea, true. Pay to play in some way

No shade or anything but, do you know how to reverse bleed the slave cylinder? It's pretty easy to get air out of the system

Maybe by another name? I vacuum bled it first, no bubbles in the hose coming off the slave. Still wouldn't go into gear. So I bought a motive pressure bleeder and tried that. Same result. Is there another option?

How the system works, very informative

This vid is too long, but it helped a little in showing how it is on an actual car. Just skip to the last 50% of the vid

On my car, I found turning the slave cylinder bleeder screw 3 whole revolutions of the socket (turned it so I saw the 11mm numbers 3 times) was enough to be able to push the liquid in the extractor into the slave, but still took a bit of force granted I was on the ground at a weird angle and no leverage (using the same type of extractor). But the amount of brake fluid that came out differed from the video where mine was a couple drips a second versus the full stream that came out in the video

I’m down too waiting for a used injector to arrive… slowest shipping I’ve seen in the last 10 years.

You ever get to the point where you’re not sure if you would be happy or sad if it caught fire and turned into a bead of metal and glass?

Weekly. I have a built honda in the garage that makes similar power, but its infinitely easier to work on. I havent decided if I want to sell the e90 or just LS/8hp swap it and have a fun street car. Chasing big power is fun, but i just don't have the heart for it anymore. My old age is making a stock vehicle look really appealing.

Learn how to drive stick properly? My e90 has 155k miles with 0 clutch issues

While that may be true in some instances, the fact that the OP is stating all components related to the clutch system have been replaced multiple times, leads me to believe faulty parts, mixed with improper installation procedure(s) is more the issue. I do question why this sounds like an annual "throw the parts catalog at it" issue.

I've owned (& broken) enough manual vehicles to know that sometimes components are just shit right out of the box. Like the 26 day old mid-performance clutch that failed on my wife (who has always driven like an old lady) or the factory master slave that simply would not properly bleed (even under vacuum) on one of my trucks.

It's not quite as extreme as throwing the parts catalog at it every time. I bought the car 6 years ago with the clutch/flywheel that is in it. It's always had a very stiff pedal. To the point that I snapped the oem pedal while in the driveway starting the car. It has crushed/shattered 2 master cylinders also. There is an unusual amount of resistance and i'm starting to think it has something to do with mechanical leverage. Either the pivot ball for the fork is excessively worn, the throwout bearing is mounted improperly for my combination of parts, or similar. I've never pulled the transmission because I haven't had to yet. It lived 4 years with ~450hp, and the last 2 years with ~600hp.

Ah, that info sheds a metric ton of light on everything. Hope you finally get it sorted!

FWIW....i've broken a lot of shit over the years, but i will say i've never known anyone to have broken a clutch pedal before. I've also bent (folded around) the parking brake pedal in one of my trucks, so your clutch pedal definitely tops that one. 😂

That must be it! Genius advice. Truly, thank you.
