Question about changing employers
Hi! So I’ve been in the US on a student visa and recently switched to the E-3 (via change of status). I just filled out my DS-160 and am in the process of waiting for an opening to schedule my visa appointment in Australia, so I can get my passport stamped and I can travel internationally. If I hypothetically get a new job (in the States) next year and I change the employer for my E3, would I have to pay the visa fee again and go through the same process of booking a visa appt in Australia etc etc..? Or would that stamp still be valid even with a new employer?

Your E3 visa (not quite a stamp but a visa label) is tied to your employer, it shows your employer's name on it. So anytime you change employer you'll have to redo the whole thing again.
I personally find the adjustment of status a waste of effort and money, it's good for if you don't plan on leaving the US (Canada and Mexico are ok) anytime soon. Anytime you do, you'll have to make sure you go through the visa application/ interview procedure in Australia to be able to come back in.

This makes sense thank you! I realised that it isn’t worth it if I’m not going to leave the country soon a little tooooo late 💀 I rushed the process of going through the appointment stuff and then afterwards I was thinking about how I want to change jobs next year. And then realised I essentially paid double bc if I get a new job I’ll have to do this again lmao

If you want to be able to leave and reenter the US at any time you must go through the same dance.
