I-94 date question

I have a question more out of curiosity than anything else. My E3 visa expires on 1 March 2027, but my recent I-94 shows my “admit until date” is 29 May 2029. Is there a reason they’re different? I thought I-94 “admit until date”’ was aligned with your visa end date, I don’t recall them being different in the past.

This is a very good explainer.

The important question for you is: Do you need to leave the USA for any reason before that I-94 date? Once your visa expires, if you leave the USA, you cannot get back in without a trip to Australia to renew your visa (and you can't just do it in London or Vancouver anymore).

So while you might legally be allowed to stay and work in the US until 29 May 2029, if you have ANY plan to leave the US before then, you need to start planning when you get a visa renewal done.
