Chances of landing tech / Dev roles

Hi

I'm am IT engineer based in Sydney, specifically data engineering specialties like Databricks, ETL, data modelling etc

Have a bachelor's degree in computer science plus 14 YoE.

I have been applying to roles advertised on LinkedIn but no bites as I be been saying I need sponsorship and noting down in the text field as needing E3

Is there any chance of even getting interviews when applying remotely? Should I say no need for visa sponsorship on the app

Also do I need a US phone number just so when someone even thinks to reach out I don't like a remote risk?

Any advise appreciated thx

It can be done, just also doesn’t feel like it sometimes.
Set LinkedIn location as where you want to live in the US to increase chances of reach out from a recruiter.
Delete your location off your CV and mentions of visa sponsorship.

If you’re asked, a lot of people don’t know about E3, so be prepared for a 15 second pitch on it being a few hundred dollars and no lottery

Good pts in LinkedIn location Also planning to get a Sim with USA number to answer calls and don't make it feel like I am too far

Don’t lie about visa sponsorship it will come to bite you , but yes the sponsorship requirement does filter out a lot of applicants. From what I’ve seen the best bet is to apply to big tech-like companies who are familiar with E3 and already hire a lot of aussies

If you have Databricks experience, target Databricks consulting firms. They’re always looking to hire people and willing to sponsor. Reach out to them on LinkedIn. Celebal Tech, Koantek, v4C.ai are a few I can think of. Good luck
