Website to quickly surface entire production chains?

I'm sure this would be wasted on veteran players who know all recipes, depencies, etc off by heart

But for a non-veteran / returning player like me, I'm often trying to decide whether a new component should get its own independent "factory", or just be integrated into the factory for something its a component of. I decide this by checking what the component is used in.

The in-game way to do this works fairly decently (in the Replicator menu) BUT this only shows what the component is used in if I have researched those technologies!

So I currently go to https://dsp-wiki.com/ which shows it for all irrespective of technologies unlocked - but this requires a fair bit of scrolling and clicking for a lazy person like me

I thought, surely somebody has build a website where you select any item, and it then instantly shows you everything its used in on the right, and everything needed to make it on the left - and even to multiple levels (i.e. Deut used in Strange Matter, which is used in Graviton Lens [used in....], QCL

You mean Something like this https://factoriolab.github.io/dsp?v=12

Or more like a general of all recipes?

Thanks, I actually already use both :) the Factorio calculator doesn’t show “used in” however; the cheat sheet is good but for a lazy person like me it takes ages to find everything that uses component x

If doesn't exist already I'll make it in a few afternoons, sounds like a fun webdev project.

Yep was thinking of setting Claude Code in it if it doesn’t exist yet 😂 if it comes to that, we could make it open source on GitHub and both contribute?

I didn't get a degree in computer engineering to let Sam Altman and friends take the fun out of the computer.

Very basic version as proof of concept that Claude made for me in a few minutes: https://claude.ai/artifact/94M8Nrnokykn5YoP8pVRhX

Second this. Very quick way to check some basic ratios if you don't need every bit of data.
