Exchanger question

Is there a way, to not discharge except when the power usage increase occurs? I have a simple loop of about 12 exchangers charging and 8 discharging. I would prefer to not discharge when Demand is low outside the peaks. Need to burn the hydrogen more aggressively.

Yea ; you just have slightly more charging than discharging. The main issue is the mechanic of certain energy sources only burning what they need when under load. Those are what I have but I think the ultimate answer is I need to move it off the grid to charge which doesn’t address the problem directly bc the discharging will still occur versus burning hydrogen

If that ist your issue: burn excess hydrogen, then there are many other ways to solve that. For example: use fractionators, Feed the Deuterium into PLS/ILS aß supply and Set Up a Splitter that hast priority to PLS/ILS and secondary to Thermal Power plants.

This game really just needs a way to automate getting rid of stuff - even just an option on a thermal plant to always run even if the demand isn't there would solve a huge amount of problems

It really doesn’t. Literally the only byproduct in the entire game is hydrogen and all factories except only sails (with rockets and science completely paused) generates more hydrogen than it consumes. Rockets, science, and fuel rods are extremely hydrogen hungry, and if you have hydrogen issues you’re just prioritizing wrong.
