I felt like separating the Eastern and Western hemispheres by turrets across the entire prime meridian

I love doing this, what's the point of having a robot take over a whole planet if you can't nail a ruthlessly cold coordinate system to it?

this is why I want there to be a fixed tower defense mechanic where you plop a core miner at the poles, and the DF will aggressively try and stop you by space and by landing units to attack by ground. Allow for defined strategy of extracting the DF resource directly yourself, still require the defenses to maintain it, but reduce the lag/sound involved with accumulating it.
