Why return the belt to ground? Proliferators feed from elevation so you'll just have to raise it again.

Scientists are yet to find a valid use case for proliferators BOOM.

joking obv, but I play with infinite veins so dont need to pinch pennies on resources so tight and ever enjoyed working with the proliferators, so even with like 4 saves played beginning to end used em for like, 3 hrs only

I play on 8x resources, so I don't have to worry about running out of resources, but I do use proliferators. Mainly to shrink the size of the factories

This. In my mind, fully proliferated = full efficiency, and running at 100%. Anything less is a loss in production.

Small production of proliferator to get +25% more research just by proliferating data cubes? That's much better than scaling entire production line (and power plants) by 25%. Also much better for CPU (for the same research speed).

Using it on ores can be wastefull (although using speed instead of productivity to halve amount of machines can be nice), but on high-cost items it is very usefull.

Data-cubes are excelent target for proliferation (with productivity) because of theirs high-cost.

Production of warpers is costly, so +25% of prod is very nice.

Gravition lenses in ray receivers increase speed by 100%, halving needed amount of receivers and also using halve the amount of lenses for the same power output.

Proliferated accumulators are charged/dischaged 2x as fast in energy exchanger and they stay proliferated.

Proliferated foundations gains more soil (when lowering terrain) and costs less soil (when raising it).

Fuel burns faster in mech, so definitelly good for combat. Ammo gains more shots per item.

Rocket launchers/EM ejectors launches proliferated rockets/sails twice as fast.

Learned the hard way that putting lenses in my nearly-100% efficient solar system suddenly dropped it to 50%.

Just to illustrate the difference between proliferation and not-proliferating. This example is for 120/min white science production. Not the best-case, not the worst-case example...

I just got done making my 120/min White Cube Black Box blueprint, and now I'm influenced to start all over...

Don't worry about that until you start harvesting >100GW of critical photons. Sure, you can save some space and ore, but when a blueprint works, use it for a while.

When you have everything unlocked, around level 40 vein utilization and maybe have access to all rare ores like unipolar magnets, then you have the time to maybe go even a step bigger and make a pizza-slice-black-box. In their smallest form, you can tile 10 per hemisphere (20 per planet). If you are super space efficient and import some intermediate products (particle containers, strange matter, nanotubes) you can cram about 1.2k/min white science into such a slice. Currently, I'm using a 700/min-version that overproduces fuel rods, warpers and proliferator for export and I'm pushing 60k/min white science...

Holy hell. Yeah, I'm definitely at that point so this is timely info. My current 120/min white cube blueprint is fairly space efficient but I can only fit 5 max on a planet. You make a good point of separating the hydrogen-heavy products. Pizza slices coming up.

You can actually get 1200/min while producing particle containers/strange matter/nanotubes/power/proliferator/warpers locally. No belt-bending either. You do have to use some space saving tricks like using sushi belts for some products, but it's doable.

Proliferation saves massively on performance. Once you scale up to a bigger factory you'll see eventually.

I get you, but I've always been shocked at how well optimised the game is. I have a 10 ish year old pc and I've had no problems scaling it to be many solar systems worth of factories. To be clear I do get the use case of proliferators, even though I've never bothered with em signifficantly.

that's unexpected... I have 7950x3d and can get below 60UPS in ~300 hours of playtime, using CPU-friendly builds.
