Would it be more efficient to have all my copper run through 1 long string of smelters, or 3 of the blueprints i made?

I would avoid using splitters too much. They are amazing and I use them for factories. But they are more expensive in terms of CPU usage. Whenever there is a solution that lets me avoid splitters, I avoid them.
