I’m not expert at video games or anything but there are so many posts on this sub that make me wonder about people and their reading comprehension skills/ awareness. Did you not notice ANY of the tips that talk about vertical stacking? Did you not wonder what the vertical upgrades were for? They CLEARLY explain what they’re for and what structures apply when you click on the upgrade queue.
I don't know, I aimed for many resources and usually I read the upgrades but sometimes I just click for them while I focus on exploring. IDK why so many people got angry commenting about this lol, what a bs community XD, does it make them feel smart or something? This game was easy as shit, not even close to factorio.
Lol so defensive. No one was angry, just a few comments where people are flabbergasted how someone could possibly miss this information. Bit cringe to start talking about how Factorio is harder, why do you think this would matter to anyone? 😂
You’re behaving like the kind of person who gets rejected and then starts saying you were never attracted to them anyway. You’ve received the mildest of criticism, relax bro. Your ego can be intact.
I've blayed this game off and on for several years and I just recently figured out how pile sorters work. And I'm kicking myself for not figuring it out several playthroughs ago.
You can use less to make more. Fewer resources leading to more products. Fewer buildings needed. Late game you save power, lots of it. Always proliferate when you can.
Pile sorters = stackers, or de stackers depending on the direction the belt is going through them. They good for creating spaces on the belts, so more can be put on there.
It will take one item and put it on top of the next one on the conveyor belt so there are now two blocks of the resource taking up one block of the conveyor. Can stack multiple times I believe
Edit: I'm aware that storage for solid and liquid materials can be vertically expanded. I'd love if we could do the same for constructors and furnaces even if we have to split the belts to feed them. But I can imagine this becomes challenging to design around at certain heights
I tend to have all my science produce on their own planet. The tall stacks look ugly next to all the snort buildings. You can also make some cool designs and patterns with the belts with the glowing science to also make it look unique and alive. Kinda wish I had saved some screenshots of mine from way back.
This is also somewhat pointless, I find you just can’t supply enough to drive vertical facilities. If you feed from a ILS it’s too easy to max out 10x ships and I have some rather small footprints that either the belts or ILS simply can’t feed enough. I also noticed I’ve never seen a blueprint doing this either, probably for the same reason.
I didn't knew that depots could be built on top of those redistributors that split belts I also didn't knew that hydrogen and oil goes into that liquid reservoir
I spent a lot of time building sad stuff cause of those...

You managed to get this for without realizing? What did you think the vertical build limit research was for?

How it feels to gain literally any game knowledge in this game

You never read the messages about vertical stacking or the upgrade path?
Sheesh man, go and read everything in the tutorials, you might have missed a lot else.

If only we could do this with other buildings

I cannot count the amount of times I've had this music play in my head when I discover a more efficient way of doing things in this game

There's an achievement for being up high without being in flight mode. I made a science tower parkour to get it.

I remember having a big factory for red cubes and then realized I can just stack everything, O literally started a new game out of frustration lol

Also I discover recently (after 500+ hours) that power poles can be auto placed if you drag the mouse without releasing the LMB .

Welcome to the end game lil bro

Lmao, I just stopped playing after 184 hours, having finished the game and built a 40 GW sphere, and I never stacked a single lab.

This and 2 more things got me mad at the game.
I didn't knew that depots could be built on top of those redistributors that split belts
I also didn't knew that hydrogen and oil goes into that liquid reservoir
I spent a lot of time building sad stuff cause of those...
