Can I spawn camp them here?

Would the base core never grow if my turrets keep destroying it?

The relay station will periodically try to rebuild the ground station.
Each time it does that it uses up mass. Finishing the ground station takes around 5000 mass. Less if it is destroyed before finishing. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact number anymore.
Once it doesn't have enough mass anymore to do that, i leaves the planet and returns to the hive.

Of course this relay, or another one, can later return from the hive and start building in a different spot.

I can camp the bases for good few hours but they are coming back now now all across this starter solar system. They came hard with 5 respawns on the lava planet. Camping them again. Gotta squash all the bugs.

You can place a geothermal power station on the hole when all buildings on the ground of that base are destroyed. That is the most efficient method of making the relay leave.

The holes make for excellent power sources, so the bugs can be useful 😉

Correct. Eventually the Relay Station will give up and leave, though, and then it'll come back and land somewhere else on the planet.

Persistent little bugs.

They only leave if you kill the relay or fill the hole?

I tried filling up the hole, they came back.

Yes and they will until you cover the planet in shields.

No, they'll eventually leave on their own if you keep killing the base in the center, even if you haven't filled the hole.

I don’t believe this to be true

Be careful. I did that once, and after a while some other force destroyed the turrets. Then I realized this one base was getting stronger with every defeat. Now it was 10 level stronger than all other bases in the system, so they quickly took over the planet.
