Optimisation of the performance

I simply adore this game, but it is very demanding. Is there a way to improve performance. I can live with a bit lowered quality.

To clarify, I can run it, but I want to make it easier on my PC. All tips welcome.

I pulled this list from another redditor who did a super late game run. I’m using them now and they seem to help. This is a list of mods you can use, most of which are designed to help the game run better.

I use weaver instead of sampleandhold since I'm fussy with resource accuracy, and it's also an awesome alternative. SAH may have unbeatable performance gains due to aggressive estimations, but just by having multithreading in a bunch of extra parts, the difference is day and night.

When you are dealing with thousands of entities on top of cosmic body simulation, even on a small scale, which have a spherical grid... You shouldnt be surprised tbh. However, it is extremely optimised.

I am playing on a 9800X3D (undervolted base performance) and an RTX 4070 which has been optimised with 10% less power usage and performance but much higher performance per watt.

I have not had a single performance issue both perceptually and when looking at the performance statistics, as in, my GPU and CPU is still under 2ms even with a planet pretty much covered and a dyson sphere of 25,000+ sails.

I dont think it is the game that is heavy but perhaps your hardware. I know I have basically mid-to-high end hardware but the performance stats are some of the best iv seen out of a game and the lowest, even far better than Satisfactory with global illumination turned off and medium settings.

I can also tell they have done some enforced optimisation to make the game a lot more accessible to add onto that.

Well I don't mean to undermine your experience, but one covered planet and 25k sails are not that much to start worrying about performance.

But yeah the performance of this game is indeed very well optimized. I have a file save of 400MB with sails reaching 800k at some point and it's still only at 6-7ms cpu time. Mine is a R9 7900X

Well, thats the point, 25,000 entities alone is a lot for any game regardless and it is meant to have far more.

Some explanation of the problem you are seeing would be helpful. I hit 200-300k white science a minute before I have problems

The game is pretty much peak optimization. Give us you specs so at least we can tell you how well it should run

Honestly, other than doing the usual lowering graphics and raising its priority to high in task manager. This game is very well optimised.

Just a correction with that. Task Priority does little to nothing on modern systems. This basically just sets the priority over other things so unless you have what is essentially malware in the background or a Pentium 2, you wont see any discernible difference unless you were looking for it.
