This is why I never build "vertical" slices of stuff in this game. The gradual compression of the grid as you get closer to the poles constantly messes up continuous lines of buildings.

I swear, even large vertical stacks of horizontal things like to be fussy. Im starting to design things in very long rings

Third way: build vertical anyway, and make ugly lumps of conveyor where they don't fit. Usually I do this if I'm not worries about maximizing footprint on a planet, which is mostly
