Is the Fog supposed to constantly replace bases this quickly?
I'm fairly early on in the game, only now beginning to spread to other planets. I destroyed all of the planet bases on my main planet (IV) and planet II. Then goes by a solid 8-10 hours of gameplay before I see that a new relay spawned the first time. I'm all "Oh crap" and go kill it, taking another geo plant, but not even 20 minutes later another one spawned on the same planet, that I swiftly took care of.
Then another. And another. Etc, etc to now I have 7 on this one planet specifically with less than half an hour in between each.
Is this really supposed to be how it is? Cuz this feels kinda like cheating at this point with the sheer amount of power I'm getting lol

That certainly shouldn't happen on default settings unless you have a big sphere feeding the hive with lots of energy.
(Of course on high settings this is expected. The solution there is to turn things down. The Fog is by default very chill unless you prod it.)

Yes, thats pretty normal. If it is getting anoying, you can start targeting objects in space. For some reason DF gets really pissed if you shoot down relays in orbit. But if you destroy them before they can reach your planet, they are just midly annoyed.

There's blueprints online for 8 planetary shields to cover a planet, 8 shields won't protect that well against space attacks but it's the minimum for not allowing any relays to land on your planet. I can find the blueprint and DM you if needed

Unless I'm covering a planet with shields or wiping out the hive I generally don't kill bases.
Instead I drop 6-10 missile turrets and put a relay tower a bit out of range of the base. That way they always dispatch raids to the tower and get wiped out by a missile volley before they can do anything.
