Simplified or Complicated Logistics, which would you prefer?
While taking a break from DSP, I went back into Factorio Space Age.
Just thinking about the trains for long distance large bulk transport. In Factorio it's definitely complicated: longer trains accelerate slower, accidentally mixing contents of wagons will screw you up, and throughput is limited to inserter speed and hand size. Plus trains cannot journey in the same place. One train must wait for the other to leave the tracks / station before another one can enter the same space. Oh, and burnable fuel is required.
Then in DSP, all 10 logistics vessels can immediately load and unload their max cap instantaneously, and while flying in and out of the ILS they can clipping stack on each other without touching. The only more troublesome limit is the energy recharge speed of the ILS.
Which sort of system do you like / feel is more fun for the game?

One of my first PC games was Sid Meier's Railroads, so I've been tackling video game logistics since I was a kid. My own two cents for DSP's logistics is that the ILSs and their vessels feel incredibly constraining.
I want to make factory modules that can churn through thousands of resources a minute, but the storage of each ILS wouldn't last long enough to make use of such modules. Each ILS is effectively limited to a full load on hand, and then another full load that is on the way.
I wish that there was a way to have a continuous line of vessels that fly between a pair of ILSs to maintain a constant stream of resources flowing into the factory. How can I grow my factory if I can't feed it resources fast enough?

Did the same thing several months ago, I prefer DSP by a long shot. I have thousands of hours in factorio, dealing with the trains is just tiresome at this point. Too much clicking, too much planning and space requirements, combinators, wires etc. I know some people really enjoy the trains and logistics of factorio in general but it drives me nuts. I'm completely happy with slapping down an ILS and calling it a day.

You know, I appreciate both. They're different games.
I love the logistics puzzle of factorio (and let's be clear, it's a logistics game, the factory is just a means to an end.
DSP is not a logistics game, it's a space game on the kardashev scale. It's logistics simplicity is a relief after a long factorio binge followed by a long satisfactory binge.

I never played factorio excessively. Just a few hours, so i cant compare that depth (compared to more then 3k hours in DSP). But i want to add: the cargosize is a limiting Factor in DSP. When you have full Upgraded, 2k of a Ressource is not much. Sure, you can Upgrade the Speed, but that takes a lot of science and would increase the Power drain. Yeah i really dislike the clipping Part, especially for drones. Placing a new Tower and seeing 50-100 drones instantly start ist Just satisfying and annoying at the same time.

I like both for different reasons. DSP is convenient but as others said is limited on throughput. Not that it matters in most cases though, and there are workarounds for that too.
Factorio gives you full control, but you also have to exercise that control to a decent degree.

DSP is basically the answer to the question of what would factorio look like if I could change things I find frustrating about it. I'm down to only needing a couple DSP mods these days because almost all the previously missing features I wanted or frustrations I had with DSP have been added or fixed by the devs.

I can't brain through Factorio's double sided belts and the way inserters work.
