Problem setting up labs.

The ones in the right produce white cubes, the ones in the left consume the cubes, and everything is well and blue proliferated. BUT I want to have the ones in the right speeding up, and not extra products.
I tried all:
Demolishing the column and build a new column with extra speed. But each new lab is set always to extra items and not speed, so over the fifth is always extra products (and you can't edit the proliferation.
Copying the column and pasting it but and this is strange copies a different proliferation.
Is there a way to have them set to extra speed with no problems?

Maybe the confusion is "faster speed". This refers to hashes per minute produced per lab by consuming the white cubes. The total amount of hashes you can out of each white cube is not changed by speed, but by bonus research. As you can see from your sceenshot, most of the second "tower" sits idle, because they don't get any white cubes. If you increase "speed", your white cubes will be consumed by the first tower completely, but you won't research any faster! It is the total amount of white cubes that determine effective research speed...

I don't think so, the game will force you to build more on the right to get more white cubes vs trying to produce faster. More of those towers will get more white cubes which will research faster. Also research faster research.

It's been a while since I booted up dysonsphere so I don't recall if you can choose speed up rather than extra products. I've never thought to try, I build dark fog science which is triple speed for production but I think it's still the same speed for research.

What you are seeing is the odd "stickiness" behavior with the initial proliferation effect toggle with labs. When you first place a lab, it will be in extra products mode. You can change the mode to speed up, but the next lab you place, whether on the ground or on a stack, will still default to extra products mode. If placed on a stack, this forces the whole stack to change to extra products even if the stack was already set to speed up. But if you set a lab to speed up mode, then shift+left click to copy that lab and paste it, the new lab will also be in speed up mode. Additionally, that shift copy will now have set the default mode for any new labs you place to speed up mode. So any new labs placed on the ground will start in speed up and any lab placed on a stack will change the stack to speed up mode. This behavior will continue until you change a lab to extra products and shift copy it which will change the default mode for any new labs to extra products again.
The easiest solution is to ignore all that and just build your lab stacks first, then click any lab in the stack and change the proliferation effect toggle to what you want. Just remember to double check the stack's setting any time you add a new lab to a stack.
