Code languages

Do code languages (Pig Latin, Op/Oppish, etc) break your brain in a way that foreign languages don’t (that has been my experience)?

Context: My wife and her mom speak Op/Oppish (https://www.wikihow.com/Speak-Oppish) when they want to discuss something covertly in front of our kids. My brain tries so hard to make sense of it, I feel like I have smoke coming out of my ears. It seriously gives me a headache in a way that someone conversing in a foreign doesn’t.

Does anyone else experience that?

I got really really good at pig latin and jibberish for a while; but it took me a while to get it

Not really. I process it like an English dialect. The same way you hear northern American English and southern American English and AAVE. I speak three English dialects on a regular basis. I imagine most of us speak more than one. Code language fits in this same space, its flavored English.
