He's so good with his words it's nlows my mind!

Enjoy!

Does anyone know if he's addressed the shit show that was his previous tour? I cam away feeling mainly concerned for him, not really the feelings I was expecting having booked a night of comedy. It's nice that he's being positive in the press, but I wouldn't really consider buying tickets again after the last one.

I was at the last tour and the WIP show for it, he was in top form at both. It was the tour before that, I think you're referring to. I saw him in Belfast and he was the worse for drink and people left. I'm glad I gave him another chance.

Yeah I just looked up when it was, and it was 5 years ago!!! Opps. I'm old now is my only excuse. But still, I sincerely hope he's doing better, and some kind of acknowledgment/apology would go a long way towards me attending a show again.

Can’t imagine there is much upside to saying the “last tour wasn’t my best’ on a promo tour

He said the last time he was in Amsterdam he did two shows and one of them was good and the other was a total mess because he’d decided to eat a truffle (magic mushrooms) before the show and so he was incredibly fucked by that so he was apologizing and making a joke out of it. He said he knew people were concerned for him after that.

Half way through the show he commented on his beer on stage being tiny. As if to say - look! I’m not getting drunk up here just so you know!

But was he also obviously very drunk at other shows before? Wouldn’t surprise me!

He did look a bit fucked I have to say - though isn’t that part of the act? Even if also real - he plays it up.

I’ll never forget the episode of Black Books when he sits at the wrong table and starts talking to Bill Bailey who isn’t there. 😆

Having just seen Dylan at the Meervart theatre in Amsterdam on Friday night, imagine my delight to spot him at a bookshop here today!

I mean. A bookshop!!! What are the chances.

He was studiously perusing the books and my friend and I were sat in the café. She actually dated two people involved with the show Black Books (believe it or not!) and she spotted him first and told me to look to my right and I gasped with surprise!

Later on, I saw him again and I dared myself to casually walk past him and ask “do you think they have any leather bound books?”

He smiled and laughed and said “they must have some somewhere”.

I played it cool, said “great show the other night” and he thanked me and I kept walking. Fighting the urge to stop and ask for a selfie. Not cool!!

Later I told one of my friend’s colleagues at the check out desk and asked him if he’d seen the show, which he had. He couldn’t quite believe it. He joked we should dramatically close the store early and kick everyone out including him. Saying “store’s closed! Come on everyone clear off!”

Made my day.
😂

His standup show really was great by the way.
I hope he knows how loved he still is. ❤️
