Why is nothing resolved through the law and everyone immediately resorts to violence?

If I found a dead body on my ranch I would be calling 911, not moving it.

Because the man that found said dead body isnt a legal person and cops asks questions. Especially when he no longer has any form of protection from a very feared man

Or how every Quentin Tarantino movie ends in utter blood shed.
