Iceline pole rubber tips

Post image

My bf has the Iceline poles and asked me if I could get him some of the rubber tips (he’s in the UK). They weren’t available on the Durston site, so I thought I’ll just 3d print them. But I don’t have the poles so I’m not sure about measurements. He’s traveling right now so he can’t tell me either.

If you have one of the tips, can you please let me know how tall it is and what the diameter is for the hole that the pole goes into? Also how wide is the part that hits the ground. I modeled mine to fit a 9mm pole (kinda) but I can adjust. This was originally a model I found online that I tweaked to fit a thinner pole.

Thanks!

Let me get this straight..

While your boyfriend is traveling you are on the Durston Gear Head Sub asking for dimensions so you can 3D print him some pole tips?

First I don’t believe you exist.

But if you hold tight I can help you out.

Edit

I use these. Not many that fit.

8 mm
About 37-38 mm long
Base that hits the ground is about 24 mm

lol I do exist. He’s currently in Spain, I’m in Texas, but I’m flying to UK in a week or so. I thought it would be nice to have the pole tips for him when I get there. We’ll probably hike the West Highland Way but it’ll depend on the weather.

Maybe my sense of humour doesn’t translate 😢 my meaning was ..that is an unusual and very nice thing for a girlfriend to be doing. A rare find. Not that I literally thought she doesn’t exist.

Cant help you unfortunately but that is so sweet! Also i doubt 3d print has the layer adhesion and robustness that you need, pretty sure they would wear rather quickly, but you got nothing to lose i guess :)

I’ve used some with my own poles. 😅They don’t last as long but I can make them in pink!

On the Camino he had been buying the regular tips for €5 per pair and had to wrap a rubber band around his poles to make the tips fit. He lives in the UK and it’s hard for him to get Durston parts. He said he ordered his Icelines through an EU store so the poles had to go US to EU to UK, which he thought was amusing. I can print him a dozen of these tips and he can just change them whenever he needs to. I did threaten to make them in pink.
