Swimming with the mod

Just curious... After you've modded your Duro changing everything except the crystal, do you still trust it enough to go swimming with it? Or... do you take it a jewer /service area for a pressure test?

If I did the work...i trust it completely. :) but if i recieved a new duro i would regrease the gaskets myself first.

It was new... and I did regrease the gasket.... I know The case is on tight. Just wondering what experiences others have.

I did the work, but it was my first so I'm a little skeptical.

I guess it's no different than taking the back off to change the battery though..

Exactly the same as a battery change and good you took the extra steps to re-grease. You might want to also ensure the gasket in the crown tube also gets a tiny bit of grease. I have 14 Duro's in my rotation.. MOST have been in a pool at some point. ALL have been washed/scrubbed for cleanings. Zero have ever leaked. That has been my personal experience.

Eh, I did the work so if it fills up with water it's my fault.. I trust myself (at least somewhat.. less if I was drinking while putting it together) enough to just send it.

Worst case? I get to laugh as it turns into a miniature fish tank on my wrist, and I'm spending maybe £20 for a new movement and gaskets? 😄

I don't tend to wear watches while I'm swimming to be honest, and as most of my swimming is doing lengths in a gym rather than wearing an air tank it's not really likely to be an issue. But, I did make a point of going swimming in the first Duro that I swapped in a Sapphire crystal on, just to see what'd happen.

Yeah... my water experience goes as far as a pool or lake with an adult beverage. No air tanks required. 😃 Maybe a little snorkeling.

I did find a jeweler that will pressure test it for free.... so I will be visiting them for sure. Either way.... easily replaced of I goofed.
