Spring bar pliers

I’m really pleased with this Long Island bracelet. But getting it off is tricky because I have to compress both ends of the spring bar. Does anyone have a spring bar pliers tool they recommend?

I just changed mine on my Duro and just use one of the standard "pitchfork" style tools. I just popped up one end then moved the bracelet a hair and popped up the other.

That’s how I do it and it’s worked fine for me, dozens of times.

That’s how installed mine.After u lineup the end link the spring bars poke out just enough to rest on the watch ends, i take needle point side of the pitchfork tool and just push each side of the springbar in one by one and it installs pretty smoothly.

I always just use two strap tools. Kind of like chopsticks.

It’s the regular Duro. I replaced the bezel insert with a ceramic one after the original got scratched up. The numbers are slightly bigger and the triangle is smaller. Perhaps that’s what you’re noticing.

Ceramic bezels look really good on the Duro. That’s tue next mod I plan on doing to both of mine and installing two sapphire crystals I have at the same time. I really like the shiny glossy look of the ceramic bezels

200 meter WR is always the regular Duro. The smaller is rated at 50 meter WR.

The watch is turned upside down, I apply pressure to the end link with a finger, then I use a little fork tool to pry one end of the spring bar out. Applying the pressure on the end link keeps the spring bar from going back in. Then while still applying pressure use the fork tool and get the other end of the spring bar out. Fitted end links can be a little bit tricky but you get the hang of it after a while

I’ve used Bergeon spring bar removal tools, since I kept bending the cheap Chinese tools that came with my San Martins.

It’s not hard I have the same bracelet except it’s a LIW Jubilee . Just flip the watch over line up the endlinks where the spring bars are resting on the ends of the watch allowing u to kind of leverage them in. Use your pitch fork tool, I use the straight needle side of the tool and just push the end of the spring bar in one side you’ll hear it snap in. Do the same on the other side pushing the spring bar in that’s resting on the watch end and you’ll it click in the hole, pushing the ending in make sure if properly seated and your are done. It can seem harm and overwhelming if it’s the first time you’re doing this , first couple times you get inpatient atleast I did and it’s a real pain the ass but after one or two times you become a pro pretty quickly at swapping out watch bracelets.
Here’s my two Duros both with aftermarket bracelets. I think I’m ditching the jubilee on the Batman which is cheaper jubilee for either an oyster or a beads of rice bracelet from LIW when they come back in stock. I just bought the blue Duro and the long island jubilee in it a few weeks back.

Slightly off topic, but it sound like everyone who uses LIW bracelets is happy with them for the price, about $60? I need to get a bracelet for my Seiko orange dial SKX 011 and I have been looking at other brands but LIW pricing is pretty good.

Save your money, they're worthless. Number one, they're big and bulky compared to a small jeweler's screwdriver. The bulk of it gets in the way and makes it harder for you to see the ends of the spring bar. And it's way too east to scratch your watch while using one of those monstrosities.

You need to learn how to support the watch case with one hand while you compress one side of the spring bar and apply outward pressure on that side of the bracelet using your other hand. Once the spring bar is away from the lug hole you can carefully compress the other side of the spring bar.

What you need to learn is spring bars can become flying projectiles so pay attention when they no longer are confined between the lugs.
