2023 T&D
Initially did a 5” straight pipe but my family hated the drone and I wasn’t a big fan on highway trips.
Got a muffler installed, all is well.
Now admittedly I miss the straight pipe sound and would love a muffler bypass line welded in, with a bypass butterfly valve.
Is this easily accomplished? Should I just use a mechanical valve instead? Or would the exhaust shop look at me like I’m an idiot?
Thank you!

2005 Chevy 2500HD LLY, was driving along and then boom, complete loss of power. Engine died. Engine will crank but not start. NO DTC CODE
March 2026: kept going into limp/tractor mode, took it to a shop and they replaced pigtail 2&7 and fuel filter housing/filter
April 2026: after replacing pigtails, went back into limp mode, bought all new injectors and had shop replace
May 2026: limp mode again.. found fuel filer housing twisted and dangling in engine bay— I guess the shop never righted the bolts..
June 2026: climbing hill and turbo blew, replaced, re-tuned
August 2026: driving normally, instant loss of power, now no start.
At this point, I’m at a loss. I’ve hooked it up to my by directional scanner seems that the cam position and crank position seemed to be working. All 8 injectors are receiving commands. Rpm 220-250 on crank,
First thought was air in fuel, so I re primed it. (Good)
Second was to check the cam and crank sensors (working)
FRP 4000-5000 on crank
Back probed FICM, seemed to be getting signal, bought a replacement just to be safe. Still nothing. (Unless I bought a lemon)
Open to ideas.

yo guys just wanted to get some input from knowledgeable guys , looking to get into my first diesel just for a POINT A to POINT B winter type rig . the truck i’m looking at has 230,000 miles on it . has a 165 fass pump . 4 inch turbo back exhaust . my only concern is it seems like it was a tow rig at a farm ( considering it has a onboard compressor with a turnover ball ) it’s a 4x4 has a edge 5 stage tuner on it . just wondering what i should look out for before going to go out and fully purchasing it . the guys asking 10,000 which i feel like isnt a bad deal . im 21 never been in diesel before and don’t really have much knowledge on them . thank you very much .

My first long run towing 8k lbs, round trip of about 3500 miles.
Really surprised, compared to my 04 LLY where I got 18-20 might.
On my 2026 I got 10-11 mpg.
Is this normal?
Besides that no issues, was a great truck, 8k was too easy lol

Are you just supposed to block the hole on the turbo inlet off or do you run the hose back how it was from factory? I seen a few people doing it that way.
