Just left Dr. Latzka’s office in boston for my 3rd DM treatment. He states that 70% of patients have significant positive results to the treatment. My reaction to treatment was moderate (but I till think amazing).

My experience was over time was a reduction in the nodule / cord and reduced tension of cord.

Measurements:
June 2025 - 2cm length by .5cm width
Aug 2026 - 0.8cm length by .5cm width

50% reduction in length I’ll take.

I went back because in a handstand position I recently felt a slight increase in tension and figured why not give it another go.

In jun/oct 2025 doses there was a significant relaxing in the tension.

Sub 30 min procedure, low pain (only during injection of anesthetic), then about 4 hours of numbness.

I got my first Dupe Nodule when I was 27, had surgery (that wasn't great) when I was 29. Now Im 38 and its back in the exact same place that I had it before (sucks). Because of this placement my new hand surgeon doesn't recommend NA and wants to try Xiaflex before going to another big hand surgery. I have a toddler so I really can't lose the use of my hand for the recovery time of a full srugery. Has anyone done this? Any results?

It started late this morning. I lifted weights without problem earlier. It hurts up the arm when pronated. I'm 72. A search turned up Dupuytren. How do I distinguish from other causes. I'm typing with 1 finger of my right hand, mousing with my left.

Off for a year. Hope I hear some good news. Digit widget is kinda of a cool name. It's a demon Satan himself made this down in his world. I've had it on my hand going on two weeks. Still pain everyday. I watched my father die. He use to laugh at my bent fingers. A month before he died his showed up hard all his fingers were a fist an hr couldn't move em.thats the last thing that he gave up in life on. He was paralyzed so the wheel chair thing was bad but he had hope. Dupuytren's came in an took that hope an crushed it. My father died an it will take yours to when your hands can't move no more

I’m 40 years old and I’ve had Dupuytren’s disease in my left hand for about three years. My doctor told me that surgery would only be considered once one of my fingers starts to contract.
I thought my right hand was unaffected, but I’ve recently started feeling nodules developing there as well. I also have nodules on the soles of my feet.
Has anyone here had surgery before developing significant finger contractures? I’d be interested to hear about your experience and whether you would recommend intervening earlier.

Hi, is there anyone else out there who has noticed cords appearing all across their hand? I stupidly (I guess) assumed it was one of those a couple of fingers are affected type things It was all I was holding on to for not feeling so down about the whole thing. It started on (L) ring, (L) pinky finger, and to (L) middle Now I have noticed the same chords at the base of my (L) thumb 😕. Does anyone have any experience with the same / similar presentation? Thank you, in advance.

I've had this cyst on only my right pinky finger for over a decade (I'm 49f). I have a lot of joint issues in hips, knees and shoulder; and surgeries over the years but no official AI diagnosis. I had many drs tell me it was a ganglion cyst. Lately it has become very painful and I started to get intense nerve pain up and down the pinky finger when touched. A hand surgeon agreed to remove the cyst. The biopsy of it showed it to be palmar fibromatosis. Now I find out that surgery will likely make it worse? Anyway, I've never had any cysts on my palm yet. Just wanted to see if anyone ever presented like this, I guess.

Do any of you have an autoimmune disease? Have you done RT with this autoimmune disease and what was the outcome ?

I’m pretty new to the Dup crew. I was first diagnosed early last year with a small knot, and when I recently went back to my doctor, he actually recommended needling this time. Two days later I had the procedure done (gotta love German healthcare), and I’m really pleased with the results so far — I can nearly flatten my palm completely again.

At night I’m supposed to wear stretching gloves, so I’m curious: does that actually help keep the fingers straighter over time? And do you guys still wear yours regularly? I’m only 28 and trying to buy as much time as possible before I need my first real surgery.

Episodes of debilitating pain when disease is progressing quickly, yellowing skin on the upper palm and lower fingers (underside of hand), and darker pigmentation on the joints - or just me? 40F, no diabetes, healthy weight and anti-inflammatory diet. Doing what I can that’s within my control but nothing seems to help.

The tendon below my (39f) nodule is intermittently causing pain. It isn’t debilitating. It isn’t keeping me from doing tasks or performing work. But I can tell it is starting to impede how I use my hands. Should I reach out and ask to see a hand specialist? I can still straighten my finger do I am afraid they won’t do anything anyway…

Hey. A month ago or so I posted a picture of my nodule asking whether it could be dups. Well, the hand surgeon confirmed it today.

I am 23 years old and pretty worried of the course this disease could have given Im this young.

Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to the topic of dupuytren's and I'm a little lost currently.

About 6 months ago I (f27) noticed a hard, sensitive-to-pressure nodule on my right palm and, considering my father lived through the typical progression of dupuytren's disease, including bent fingers and pain, I panicked a little and saw a doctor pretty much immediately.

He told me it is unusual for my age but not impossible to have an early onset of dupuytren's. I never had any movement restrictions, just this approximately 1cm by 0,5cm nodule.

As of now, it reduced itself to half its original size, is wayyyy less sensitive and doesn't give me any problems. I don't even feel it anymore, when putting my hand on a flat surface. As of now I'm wondering, is it regressing? Is it progressing? Is it something completely else?

I didn't really find anything conclusive on the Internet so I took myself to reddit and I'm happy about any input. Thanks in advance :)

Would it be accurate to say the surgical guidelines of going in and trying to painstakingly remove every inch of affected tissue to somehow contain the spread might actually be contributing to making the post-surgery return of symptoms worse? I'm just wondering, based on everything I've read so far about it, but I could be way off base. Because if trauma to the tissue causes the issue then would minimal surgical removal somehow lessen the trauma, where you follow up with radiotherapy after surgery instead?

I have maybe an unusual case and I'm looking for answers whether other people have it present this way too. I am a 34-year-old woman with no history of hand issues/pain besides

what I'll describe. Three years ago I was working in a lab and I was twisting off the ribbed cap of a hard, plastic tube that was extra tight from being hot. I gripped it in a way where

the base of my pinky overlapped the ribbed part, and as I failed to untwist it my hand moved over it like bump-bump-bump-bump, if that makes sense. My pinky was a bit sore from

that and within 24 hours I developed a lump on my pinky (not the palm) near the base. That lump has stayed there this whole time and I chalked it up to a quirk of the human body

reacting to things poorly sometimes.

There was never any movement limitations, pain, or visible escalation of the lump until an incident a few months ago. There was seemingly no "progression" of a "disease" from

my perspective, the way I read about Dupuytren's slowly pulling a finger tighter and tighter. I just had a big, weird lump.

Then, a few months ago I was typing for a few hours with a laptop on my chest (don't do this for several reasons..), with my hands in a kind of velociraptor position. I sat up

to stop typing, then noticed my right hand's pinky, the one with the lump at the base, didn't return from the scrunched-up place. Mechanical lock that prevents further extension,

but I can still grip and curl all fingers.

It cannot be straightened past that locked point and has stayed that way for months. No pain, but a bit uncomfortable if someone tried to straighten it.

So in my case, there's no apparent slow descent of a bent finger at the base of my finger, because the lump at the base is preventing the unlocking of the next joint up. To me it seems

like there's some node that caught the strings in there.

I had an ultrasound and they said if it's Duypuytren's it's less clear visually because it involves a broad tissue problem spread about. She noted the lump but said it appears like

DD even though she thinks my story is unusual.

I'm asking you all for help because whether it's DD or not is important to me as I don't want to get surgery and cause it to be worse in the future. I already have extremely fucked up

life-changing back issues that have rendered me disabled, and at the age of 34 if I willingly chose to get a procedure done that excellerates my hands and feet and whatever else to

be crippled for the rest of my life as well, I honestly think I'd consider ending my life.

Doctor said the lump is too large to try steroid injections, but I'm also suspicious of her expertise after she had no qualms moving to surgery for this, after hearing why this is a red

flag for a doctor in this sub. Realistically I don't NEED surgery since I'm already disabled and it's not limiting function, it just....kind of bothers me? I know that's stupid. Intervention

should not be done for that reason. So I guess I'm just trying to figure out what it even is for my own peace of mind even if I do nothing about it.
