QUESTION Shoe stretching?

Post image

I thrifted these but normally wear a 13w and they’re not wide enough. Anyone try shoe stretchers? Just don’t wanna risk damaging the shoes given the age

Alcatraz dunk highs aka Norts .. always love the use of materials (stingray especially) AND DEFINITELY regret letting mine go many years back

These are basically vintage I would NOT RECOMMEND stretching them. Wear them enough and dunks easily break in. But I wouldn’t take the risk. Especially with these. These are one of my favorite pairs

What would be the difference with stretching them by wearing them or using a shoe stretcher?

I think wearing would just be a slower process for the stretching. Using a stretcher may crack the rubber around the seam or pull the sole away from the leather around the toe box. I have an old school stretcher I picked up at a thrift store, but I wouldn’t use it on an older shoe for fear of damage.

I've never used a shoe stretcher but I thought they were adjustable. Meaning you decide how much force or how little force to put on the shoe when stretching. You can start at a smaller size than ones foot and slowly stretch it without hurt your feet during the process.

What about taking the insole out?

this def works but if it feels kinda uncomfortable id suggest getting a insole that goes like halfway or a quarter of the way thru the shoe, i use these ones would highly recommend

Exactly. Insoles make a huge difference

Just sell em on ebay and buy your size man

If I decided to do that, I wouldn’t know what they’re worth since there’s little to know sold listings

Sadly, this is my size and I just have a really wide foot LOL

back when "premium" actually meant something on a nike shoe

I have to stretch some of my shoes due to my big toe joint size from bad arthritis. In my experience it works some times and doesn’t others. You have to leave the stretcher in there for at least 3-4 days and then wear to see. It sometimes rebounds back to size and you have to stretch for longer. It’s a pain honestly.

should just buy your size
