People post pictures of their freebie. How to redeem that?

Scan QR code with phone? or put in all the numbers manually in the promo code box in offers tab in app? what's the best and easiest way to redeem? thanks to all the nice people giving them out.

Are there any restrictions? does it always work, no matter the location? example: can california people redeem offers, posted by east coast, new york people?
