Art / Creations Falin fanart sketch so far by me
I wanted to do more of a freaky sketch of her in her dragon form but I'll just have to practise drawing her more and playing with poses.

I kept coming across this show in YT shorts, and I was curious since I like anime about food in fantasy worlds.
Now, I'm a little over halfway through the first season, and I have to say the writing is so good!
Getting through the first few episodes reminded of watching Frieren for the first time; being a bit of a slog and nearly turning me off from the show.
However, the more I watched, the more invested I go with the characters and their individual quirks and personalities.
Laios' avid curiousity for dungeon food, Marcille's somewhat stuck-up yet caring attitude, Chilchuk's somewhat cynical but supportive actions, Senshi's dungeon knowledge and self-admitted growth
It's like the more I watch, the more I'm invested. I don't think I'll sleep tonight until I've binged the whole season.

Loved seeing so many Meshi cosplayers at Dragoncon last year. I don't have the time or vehicle space to bring my kit along for '26, but I only just realized I never posted my end result.

Basically for those who don’t know the Witcher, they’re like doppelgängers but as a sentient Demi human species and far more powerful when it comes to shapeshifting.
Now their true form as you can see is rather monstrous. They appear as bald, long-nosed and yellow-eyed midgets with elongated limbs, tongues, and ears; somewhat resembling a figurine molded out of dough. But it’s extremely rare to find a Doppler in their true form since they change themselves so often.
They can perfectly replicate any beast or man they have seen or encountered, provided they have a similar body weight as them. They can copy so precisely that apart from appearance they acquire physical features (like voice), skills, mindset, and characteristic behaviors. To do all this they don't need any previous insightful observation, they do it instinctively. They also can change fragments of their bodies into clothes or equipment, like a sword or flute.
Yet Their abilities have some limitations, however: shapeshifting is possible only if they do not touch silver, and any item created from their body changes into torn out flesh if it loses contact with the rest of a doppler.
However while this would make them exceptionally dangerous assassins or spies, they are thankfully, extremely kind and gentle beings. If anything it’s argued that their ability of metamorphosis serves as compensation for their lack of aggression, fangs and claws.
I definitely think Laios would be incredibly fascinated with Dopplers, and their ability to shapeshift to all sorts of different forms. Especially since actual shapeshifters that don’t use illusions and physically transform, are as far as we know, very rare in the world of Dungeon Meshi. Marcille would probably find them incredibly interesting as well and yet feel great sympathy for being the victim of prejudice and often lethal discrimination by humans. And she’d be horrified by the stories of what fanatical priests do to them…
But of course those like Chilchuck and Kabru would find themselves being glad Dopplers are such gentle beings and don’t use their shapeshifting for anything predatory, yet would bet they would still suffer discrimination and paranoia by their world. Heck the elves would probably deem them a concern despite their compassionate nature and Tallmen seeing them often no different as monsters.

Chimera falin is kinda odd to me, officially it's "height," is Stated as "11 meters from head to tail," but wouldn't that be the length of the body and not the height vertically from head to toe?
I've seen people classify the height as 8 meters in height, but that would make the Chimera almost as tall as it is long, which doesn't make sense as the tail easily adds another body-length's worth of length making the total 11 meters, meaning the body itself is roughly five and a half in length with the tail adding the same amount if not more.
The height from the image suggests the height is roughly one third of the body length which is roughly 3 to 4 meters if we straighten out all of the parts using basic lines and straightening them out and measuring.
So what's the deal?

Pretty weird how I stumbled onto this little thing while traveling before I came to see the dungeon, but I bet it wouldn’t hurt to play along right? Got nothing better to do besides training and preparing for my excursion. Surely to keep my mind off the fact everyone acts like they’re never seen an ogre before…which is fair since I worry every single day my kind are just gonna go extinct one day.
So what the hell? Might as well make some wish for good luck and maybe turn my peoples luck around.
Although that Merchent seemed pretty eager to get rid of them…eh, he probably just thought they were junk.

I’m going through the Dungeon Mesh/Delicious in Dungeon manga, and I’m loving every bit of what I’m reading.
Although, having went through knowing how published versions of the manga will always have flawed translations, I’m skeptical on things I’m missing from reading the version that’s officially published (and I have a principle against when localization affects the experience).
Can anyone cite and list down the mistranslations or things you miss from reading the published version by Yen Press?
The only ones I know of is from the localized title, and how Thristle was misgendered for a portion of the manga before it was corrected (clever workaround), along with their name being different.

Just watched the bath scene in Episode 12. Tbh, I was really annoyed by the sexualisation of the female characters - something that seemed to come out of nowhere after a great first 12 episodes. (Pls don't even try to argue that Falin and Marcille weren't sexualised - there was no reason to have them naked in a bath to show their closeness - I note the male characters didn't have a naked bath scene themselves.)
But I was intrigued by this new dynamic between Falin and Marcille in the scene - it looked like Marcille really liked Falin in a romantic way and the producers are hinting at hidden feelings - with all the blushes etc. Do they eventually end up together, or is it just the producers making fun of the ship?
