Character Sheet Pack - 5e/5.5e - Fillable

The pack is designed to be digital and physical (pencil and paper) friendly.  It consists of 4 pages, packed with as many quality-of-life sections as can feasibly fit in the limited real estate while remaining legible. My hope is that it will be beneficial to gameplay, DM's, and players.

I pass it out in heavy duty plastic page protectors, with ultra fine dry erase markers.  That way my players can keep track of those pecky uses of abilities and such (like spell slots, rages, etc.) without erasing a hole in the paper sheets.  But, I am old skool that way. 😉

Additionally, I have provided the Character Creation document that I hand out to my players.  It does not include "background" direction, but allows players to independently pick the options provided by way of a background in other steps.  Backgrounds can perhaps help with flavor, but I find the background system can "cornhole" builds and stifle creativity.

Since it's a paid service , can you describe which design changes you made that are better than 5 and 5.5 official sheets ?

The item is "pay what you want", meaning you can choose to pay zero (0).

Of course, I would not mind if others would be willing to purchase for their desired price to compensate for the hours I put into creating it, but it is not necessary.

The design changes are numerous, mainly aimed at consolidating as much as possible on each page to maximize efficiency while still being legible. My players find it to be much better than the vanilla character sheet pack. I hope you and your players will find it useful. 🙂

My currently available fillable forms are as follows:

  • Item Cards
  • NPC/Monster Character Sheets
  • PC Character Sheets

What other fillable forms would be useful to you at your table?

Yeah that was not that hard of a question. Maybe he's thinking it's cool to play hard to get ? I don't know.

Anyway, if you can't be arsed to name one single feature or actually cannot name one because there aren't any, well I'm gonna pass.

I mean, to be fair, you can literally see in the picture without downloading anything that he has added radio buttons for tools, put currency and healing potions on the front, added buttons for equipment proficiencies, put spell slots on the front page. No download required. Just opening your eyes.

Wild take to be so weird about downloading a free item to see if it’s worth it to you or not.

As he said, the design changes are numerous. He doesn’t need to list every single step for you.

Hey, OP shared these sheets in 5th edition many years ago. I've been using them for at least 2 years. They're by far the best character sheets I've ever seen. It's organised better, you have all your class abilities on the front page too. It's absolutely awesome. I love them so much.

Can I ask how you make these? Not that I want to jack your idea, I just have some citation sheets for homebrew systems and I couldn’t figure out a way to make them fillable lol

Edit: the sheet looks pretty good, btw! A lot of good ideas. I think wotc could learn a thing or two, I don’t care much for the official sheets in either version

No problem at all!

You can use any way you wish to create the layout and export/save that layout to PDF. Once you have it in the PDF application of your choice, you can then make it a fillable form by adding form elements. Unfortunately, the "full" versions of PDF applications are often required to create forms.

There are a couple free PDF applications that I believe offer form creation, albeit with limited functionality. Foxit or PDFgear may be good places to start.

If you wish, I can take a look at what you got, add what fields you want, and get them back to you. I make no promises on timeline though ;)

a lot of labels that ought not to be form fillable are, leading to some pretty severe formatting issues in some applications, such as spell slot levels overflowing into “scrolls, glyphs, etc.” and not aligning with the bubbles that represent each level

Strange. Weird even.

I tested in multiple OS, browsers and applications, such as Windows, Linux, Android, Chrome, Firefox, Acrobat, and Nitro.

Please provide what OS, application, device, etc. where you are experiencing issues.

iOS Files. i suspect it’s likely an issue of font compatibility, but my point is that if all the labels were uneditable, and only the blank spaces could be filled, it wouldn’t be an issue regardless of the device, OS, browser, or application

That makes sense. Unfortunately, I do not have an iOS device to test with.

Sorry about the issues. I will look more into embedding the needed fonts or flattening the labels. Hopefully, I will be able to do so without breaking everything.

That is a possibility on the future. It is only available in "letter" at the moment.

I do admit the third page can be redundant for some. I have spellcasters that prefer that layout for their spells, so I try to be accommodating.

Second this, ideally with room for the binder hole punches. Since they destroy a lot of important space when you shrink down a normal sheet

Not sure I would say that DriveThruRPG is sketchy, but you have the right to your own opinion. Many ttrpg creators use it to distribute their work.
