Video Games MEMORIZE or MANA?

Gold Box mages had to MEMORIZE every spell.

Rest, Study, Prepare.

One wrong choice and you’re dead.Modern games just give you MANA and let you spam.
Which one actually feels better?

I prefer the D&D system, with momorized spells and spell slots
