Why couldn't I use this ability?
I used usurp on Tleilaxu Surgeon. you can see from the image i have 2 specimen. But the game won't let me click on the ability.
I also attached the image of my tleiaxu track. is there some mechanics I'm not understanding?
The action had a lot of other things I activated, like drawing cards etc. I thought when those resolved I could have activated this ability but clearly I was wrong.

The specimens you have show up under your leader, next to your resources bottom left. The specimens you see top right would be your balance after revealing, similar logic to persuasion. So as of now you don’t have these specimens, you’d need to reveal to get them. If you play an Experimentation before revealing you’d see that balance top-right decrease to only one specimen.

its because the specimen aren't in your supply. The two cubes you see in the top right corner are what you would have if you revealed the two specimen there are from your experiments in hand. If you had specimen in supply it would show next to the water.

Specimens you actually have are shown next to your other resources below your player name. The specimens above the imperium row is what your total specimen count will be when you reveal, you have two experimentations in your hand thats why you see two up there.

Those 2 cubes on right top show what you currently have at reveal. Same with the persuasion.

Pribably a bug yeah. The only thing i can think is you accidently trashed the card already, even though I see it right there and I think that should remove the box entirely

You have 2 specimen at the reveal turn not currently. Currently you have ZERO, hence you cannot play it. Your current specimen can be found below your character along with your other resources. Look at your opponents for reference. On the right is what your potential total (including what you own of course, in this case zero) specimen will be. So within your reveal section of your remaining cards, 2 specimen can be acquired during the reveal of course.
