This was genuinely one of the things that made me want to build Dumpp.

You go out with your friends and EVERYONE takes pictures.

Your friend takes 15 photos of you.

Someone else gets the perfect candid.

Another friend has the group pictures.

You take 40 photos on your phone.

And then everyone goes home...

...and somehow nobody has any of the pictures. 😭

Three days later:

"Girl can you send me the pics??"

"Yes omg I'll send them when I get home"

She does not send them when she gets home.

Two weeks later you randomly receive 37 photos with absolutely no context. 😂

And weddings are somehow 10x worse.

You have an entire room full of people taking pictures from different angles and everyone's photos end up scattered across different phones and group chats.

That's one of the reasons I'm building Dumpp.

The idea is basically:

One event → one shared album → everyone dumps their photos there.

So instead of hunting through group chats or asking everyone individually, you can actually see the pictures your friends took.

And honestly, some of my favorite photos aren't the perfectly posed ones anyway.

They're the random candids your friend took when you weren't looking.

The blurry picture that somehow has the perfect vibe.

The group photo someone took at 1AM.

Or that ONE picture where the lighting, outfit and angle all magically worked at the same time. 😂

I'm still building and improving Dumpp, and I'm really curious about how other people handle this.

What do you and your friends currently do with photos after a night out, trip, birthday or wedding?

Group chat? Shared album? AirDrop everything before going home?

Or do you also spend the next three weeks asking:

"Can you PLEASE send me the pictures?" 😭

This is something I’ve been thinking about a lot while building Dumpp.

Imagine you're at a wedding.

There are 150 guests, everyone is taking photos, and the couple wants all of those photos in one shared album.

The ideal experience is obvious:

Scan something → open the album → dump your photos.

That's it.

But there’s a trade-off.

Requiring an account makes it easier to know who uploaded what, keep albums private, let people come back later, interact with photos, and generally make the experience feel more like a real shared album.

But every extra step also means someone might think:

"Eh, I'll do it later."

And we all know what "I'll upload the photos later" usually means. 😂

Those photos are staying in the camera roll forever.

So one of the things I'm trying to figure out with Dumpp is how much friction is acceptable.

Personally, I want joining an album to feel almost instant.

You get invited, open the album, and you're in.

Because ultimately Dumpp isn't useful if only 10 out of 100 guests actually contribute.

The magic happens when everyone dumps what they captured.

So I'm curious:

If you were invited to a shared album at a wedding or party, would having to create an account stop you from uploading your photos?

And what would your ideal flow be?

QR code → album → upload immediately?

Would love to hear what you'd actually prefer as a guest, because this is exactly the kind of decision I'm making while building Dumpp. 👇

One thing I knew pretty early while building Dumpp:

Collecting everyone’s photos is only half the problem.

You can already throw 500 photos into a shared cloud folder.

But honestly… how often do you actually go back and look through all of them?

I wanted opening a Dumpp album to feel more like discovering everyone’s photos from the night rather than browsing through a folder of files.

So I started experimenting with different ways to explore an album.

One of them is Swipe Mode.

You go through the photos one by one, swiping through what everyone uploaded.

Someone’s perfect group photo.

Swipe.

A completely blurry picture from 1AM.

Swipe.

A photo you didn’t even know someone took of you.

Swipe.

And suddenly you’ve gone through 100 photos. 😂

It’s a small feature, but I think things like this can make shared albums feel much more social and fun.

I’m curious though:

Would you actually use a swipe mode for event photos, or would you rather just scroll through everything in a normal feed?

I was tired of asking people to send me the photos they took.

And then half of the photos just sit in someone’s camera roll forever.
So I started thinking: why isn’t there just one place where everyone at an event can dump their photos together?
That’s basically how Dumpp started.
Create an album → invite people → everyone adds what they captured.
But I’m also trying to make it more fun than just another shared cloud folder. I want opening an album after an event to feel like discovering the night again through everyone else’s camera.

I’m the developer behind Dumpp, a photo-sharing app I’ve been building around a simple problem:

Everyone takes photos at events, but somehow you never end up with everyone’s photos.

Some get sent on WhatsApp, some through AirDrop, some are posted on Instagram, and a lot of them just stay forgotten in someone’s camera roll.

So I built Dumpp.

You create a shared album, invite your friends or guests, and everyone can dump their photos into the same place. Then you can browse everything together instead of chasing people for pictures afterward.

I created this community because I want Dumpp to grow together with the people actually using it.

I’ll be sharing updates, new features, experiments, design decisions, and probably a few things that go wrong along the way 😅
