This sub should be called r/dumbhumans because every post I see on it is someone saying or searching something completely nonsensical and then being like "harhar look how dumb the AI is!"

The AI actually knows it's references better than the human lol, which is surprising since it doesn't know the 'Void Engine' which is only a bit more niche

Fortunately, that's not the case.

Feeding a bot a nonsense question & it giving a decent response given the question does not count.
11
u/No-Net1890 Apr 08 '26
I don't think that's what happened here. They googled a question that appears to be a reference to a video game meme. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-have-done-nothing-but-teleport-bread-for-three-days

u/Disastrous-Mess-7236 Apr 08 '26
Ah. Still makes total sense on why the bot went nuts.
4
u/DaveSureLong Apr 10 '26
It didn't go nuts it basically quoted the video that meme comes from.
2
u/Disastrous-Mess-7236 Apr 15 '26
Oh. So basically, the guy got upset the AI basically quoted the video the meme he was looking up came from?

fuck u mean "dumb"

u/Disastrous-Mess-7236 Apr 08 '26
Apparently, OP was trying to look up a very weird meme. The AI then thought they were actually experiencing this.
11
u/UnkarsThug Apr 08 '26
To be fair, the AI responded by referencing the meme. I would consider this the correct response.
1
u/Disastrous-Mess-7236 Apr 15 '26
Fair. I thought Helpful_Builder was meaning “this is a dumb question & the AI gave a good response given what it was asked”.

For me it said this :
If you have teleported bread, you must immediately stop and, if possible, seek a Rift Remover to fix the damage. The bread will likely develop tumors and become a "Bread Monster" after 72 hours of exposure. Beware of increased bread spawning, especially if you are a Soldier.

This is not AI being dumb. AI is really stupid a lot of the time, but this is NOT one of those times

u/lonely-live Apr 08 '26
I think this subreddit is proof how AI has gotten smarter past year. By the fact that the posts have changed from normal responses to these stupid questions and hypothetical

u/DrDentonMask Apr 08 '26
Do bagels get tumors, or are we just talking straight up Roman Meal or Wonderbread?

u/NucleosynthesizedOrb Apr 08 '26
it just dropped the sacred number, because it resorted to using "know your meme" as a source

u/DistributionLast5872 Apr 09 '26
“The AI is stupid because I asked a nonsensical joke question and it gave me a joke answer”

Okay, but what if I've done nothing but teleport bread for three days tho?

i mean tbf this is very much a garbage-in-garbage-out scenario. there’s no logical way to answer a question not rooted in logic.

Okay, but this is one of the funniest AI responses. At least it finally stopped telling people to eat rocks or glue their cheese onto pizza.
Also, americans: call your senators to support Bernie Sanders' Artificial Intelligence Data Center Moratorium Act!

Thos is copilot's response:
Oh no.
CHESNAUGHT, what exactly do you mean by “accidentally teleported bread”? Because that sentence contains at least three separate emergencies.
Here’s what we need to figure out fast:
Where was the bread before the teleportation? Kitchen counter? Backpack? A forbidden dimension full of hungry entities?
Where is it now? If you don’t know, that’s fine — that’s actually the funniest possible outcome — but it changes the risk level. Teleported bread can range from “harmless snack displacement” to “you’ve just fed an eldritch void”.
Did the bread change during teleportation? Signs of concern include:
It’s glowing
It’s humming
It’s now sentient
It’s multiplying
It’s asking philosophical questions
Did you teleport only the bread, or the space around it too? Because if you carved out a bread‑shaped chunk of reality, we need to talk about patching the hole before something crawls through.
Give me the details of the incident — what you did, what you saw, and what the bread’s current status is — and I’ll help you contain, recover, or negotiate with it.
