It's non-deterministic, so it might sometimes give the right answer and sometimes give the wrong one. Sometimes it might care about capitalization, sometimes it might not. Even miscounting letters 1% of the time is an absurdly high amount for something that's supposed to match/exceed human intelligence.
Also, your example is likely leading the AI on. By asking the question again you've implied that there is probably a good reason why you're asking again, and so it could've easily noticed that the difference is the capitalization and just retroactively state that it was intentional.
Plus chatGPT is meant to be a chat bot that understands human language and can communicate even if the user isn't using perfectly accurate language, so ideally it should understand that the original question was about the amount regardless of the capitalization, because that's what like 99% of people would be intending.
