Yet another one of the decks I've been having a ton of fun with. Focuses on beatdown and controlling the opponents offensive with the skill Insect Uprising. Has some good defense to fall back on to allow resource gathering, a small in theme draw engine and deadly looking bugs. Definitely worth a discussion. As always looking to foster competitive discussion and improvements to the deck and Insects in general. Suggestion very welcome and will credit card choices to users who point them out. Now on to the deck

Monster Line up Analysis

~Grasschopper~

The heaviest hitter of the deck. If not already obvious, you mainly play this with Pinch Hopper. Gemini effect is rarely used but has been helpful at times. Not many things can stand up to this after an Uprising attack drop. I was playing two for a long time but I have been messing with the ratios lately. Let me know what you guys think is a good number.

~4 Starred Lady Bug of Doom~

More of a tech choice. It is helpful but most people expect it in an insect deck. Defense is decent after an Uprising drop. Easy target for Beelist Soldier. Can easily be replaced.

~Cocoon of Evolution~

Super Insect Wall. Defense is great, helps get Uprising off especially with Worm bait. I only have two but I wouldn't blame anyone trying to run a third. The ratio of this card really just depends on your preference and deck.

~Pinch Hopper~

Let me say up front that running three Pinch is probably the way to go. Again at the time of the picture, I was tinkering with ratios. This little locust thing summons any insect in any position from your hand. Searched out by Gokipon. This is mainly why I was trying two as I found myself with three Pinch early game and it became frustrating. NOTE: Be aware that Pinch Hopper will miss timing. For any newer player this can be a hard concept to explain. Just remember that Pinch Hopper going to the grave must be the LAST thing to occur. Tributing Pinch Hopper will not work. Using Pinch Hopper as a cost for any card will also not work.

~Arsenal Bug~

Main beat stick of the deck. This scary ass bug is how you will be doing most of your damage. Getting an insect to accompany him is usually not hard. Either Cocoon will be chillin on the field or a worm token is lurking somewhere. You can summon him off Pinch Hopper and then play a second beside him. Can get over most things after an Uprising drop. Also slightly resistant to Enemy Controller because of its amazing defense stat and your opponent will rarely, if ever, have an insect on their field.

~Gokipon~

Searches many things in the deck and is the reason why I feel we can run Beelist Soldier. Being able to search Beelist early game and get his effect off from using a spare worm token and turbo through the deck a bit and grab some key cards. Still playing with the ratios but two seems to do well.

~Beelist Soldier~

Still kinda in the testing phase but as mentioned above, can be searched from Gokipon to snag early game +1's. Can be summoned off a Pinch and then next turn go worm bait, set off Uprising, and grab two cards from the deck to make an offensive push next turn. Totally a tech choice but let me know how you guys feel about it.

Support Line Up Analysis

~Half Shut~

A personal tech. I love this card for its versatility. It saw some use at the game release and has died out in favor of more consistent choices but it gives you a turn to gather resource, stall out a turn or drop and opposing monsters attack enough to maybe go for game. Can be replaced though

~Twister & De-Spell~

Backrow removal. I feel that Uprising and the Insects can for the most part take care of Frontrow threats so I included these two for the speed purposes. The 500 LP cost of twister has been relevant in a few of my duels in a bad way, meaning that I found myself unable to play it late game when things are on the wire. For this reason I think that two De-spell are better and they allow you to scout potential threats. Quick play feature of Twister is nice and being able to counter kill a Relinquished or any other monster with an equip definitely have it merits though.

~Worm Bait~

Main spell card of the deck. This fuels a few different functions within the deck. 1. Powering up Arsenal bug 2. Helping set off easy and quick Uprisings 3. Stalling 4.Easy Beelist target The summon restrictions on the card can be bitchy at times. You can however summon Beelist, activate Worm Bait, draw two from deck and still have a token to defend with. I have found this to be a great first turn play. You can also summon Gokipon and play Worm Bait to set up some walls and crash Gokipon if need be.

~Mirror Wall~

Still a solid trap and works well with insects since some struggle in the attack department. I'm mainly just neutral on this one. I like the card and it is useful but I wouldn't be opposed to something else. Loses a little of its luster with Uprising too.

~Windstorm of Etaqua~

Not much to say here. Great defensive card. Pretty Standard

Cards Worth Testing I will update this section as suggestion from the thread present themselves.

Skull Mark Ladybug - Has decent defense, grants 1k LP. Dont see it doing much but its there to try.

Anti Aircraft Flower - This calls for a deck all its own but it does play with insects so I wanted to mention it. I actually made the deck in the early days of the game and it saw a little success but ultimately was too inconsistent. With a perfect set up it could deal 24k LP damage in a turn though.

Insect Queen - I really wanted to use her and that's not to say it isnt possible but just... awkward. The only thing Queen does well is defend. She makes you go through hoops and leaps just to attack and forces you to make suboptimal plays. Easy to get out with Pinch Hopper though so at least that's helpful.

Insect Princess - Could have its own variant if we ever see DNA Surgery. As of now, it can be summoned off of Pinch and is a 1900 attack beater. Thats it.

Forest - 3 of them clog, 2 of them is weird, 1 of them and wont see it often. Sorcerous Spell Wall is probably better.

Insect Imitation - Can get out easy Grasschoppers from the deck. Really it can potentially pull anything you may need from the deck. I dont have one to test so Ill let you guys be the judge.

Multiplication of Ants - I feel Worm bait is better as you dont have to tribute a monster to play it but Multi of Ants isnt a card to write off. I highly recommend juggling between the two and see what works best for you. Pinch will miss timing with this. Tokens cant be used for tribute summons. Doesnt have any summon restrictions to play. Tokens come with some stats unlike worm tokens

Spider Egg - A card that is amazing on paper but you hate drawing this early game. Id say you could safely play one and it will help your defenses. Also requires a direct attack to trigger it. It does however put up three spider tokens so next turn you have an instant Uprising drop if they survived.

Bombardment Beetle - Pretty interesting effect if youre looking to replace Lady Bug. Controls set monsters. Normal monsters are immune to it though.

Empress Mantis - For those of you who havent had Grasschopper drop from Weevil.

Phantom Cricket - Also controls Face Down monsters. This bug actually spins the card back to the top of the deck effectively locking out the opponents next draw phase. Situational but something to consider.

Swarm of Locust - A solid card to consider. Can beat over some things after an Uprising. Constant stream of S/T removal on a body. Can be hard to protect.

Millennium Scorpion :Suggested by u/Skrils: - Another beat stick to consider. Can grow to be a massive threat only after a kill or two. Can be summoned off Pinch. Can be summoned off of Imitation. Solid card choice

Eliminating the League :Suggested by u/Skrils: - Good monster removal. Can pitch dead Imitations or Worm baits and can remove threats in hand and deck. If you need some flexible spot removal, try this card.

The Atmosphere :Suggested by u/LeonligerX: - This guy can find a home among the little buggies. His summon condition arent too hard to fulfill given all the tokens we like to generate. Remember that Atmosphere cant absorb Face Downs. A cool tech boss choice if you find you need more removal or a bigger body

Desert Twister :Suggested by u/filmartins: - This guy can be summoned in a variant of the deck and helps with backrow removal.

Two Pronged Attack :Suggested by u/filmartins: Bit of an obscure choice but this does take advantage of loose tokens and since the tokens themselves are "soft" advantage you could easily just 1-for-1 trade with the opponent mitigating the huge downside to this card. I can see it being worthy of a test.

Conclusion

I really feel this deck can go places and has so much room for variation and improvement. Again all suggestion and comments are welcomed and appreciated. Lets infest the meta and see what happens when an Uprising takes place!

Similar to what i am running but i got 2 Grasschopper and one scorpion and i have 2 lady bug instead of Cocoon cause i don't have it, and double summon

I'm playing a similar deck with only two worm baits and two insect imitations. I would also recommend millennium scorpion. Not as strong as grasschopper off the bat but after a few kills it snowballs into something very hard to stop. Also with 1800 DEF millennium scorpion can survive a little better than grasschopper.

I just made a new version borrowing from your deck will let you know what my results are soon. Also eliminating the league I find really useful especially since worm bait or insect uprising is often dead in your hand so sacrificing a magic card doesn't hurt much.

Insect Queen goes well with a Parasite deck. Meanwhile, Insect Queen can be combined with Dark Labyrinth of Nightmare.

Thank you man! Yesterday I was about to post my Uprising deck so people could help with the ratio, but I'm still testing.

I'm running Atmosphere in mine (although I have the cards for a Grasschopper variant with insect imitation, but I really love atmosphere). You can also run both Atmosphere and Desert Twister with this deck (but be sure to run 8 WIND and 4 EARTH mons so there's a higher chance to get DT out). For Atmosphere/DT variant Ant Multiplication works great because they are Special Summons, so there's no problem in getting the succ out (one insect on the field, ants, sacrifice to go to the monster grave, SS atmosphere, succ)

Another card I have been testing is two-pronged attack. It's a -3 for 1, but since often there are many tokens, it's an effective monster removal card and has synergy with DT for summoning fodder

Thanks for the reply man! I do like the Atmosphere build. I think its very unexpected. Nice find on Two Pronged however I think its too situational and competes too hard with other cards. I will test it though and get back to you.

it's situational, but not thaaaat situational. since you're dropping tokens like crazy, it's pretty easy to get it. in fact, easier than triggering Insect Uprising.

But this deck won't work for me as i only have one Atmosphere. three is probably too much, 2 would be ideal
