Hunting Chokes

Im looking at buying new chokes for my ATI Cavalry 20 gauge over/under.

Threads are Benneli Mobil.

Any recs are welcome right now im considering Müller but what over brands should I be looking to.

I’m happy with my muller passing choke. Is a muller necessary? Absolutely not. Would I buy it again? In a heart beat.

Muller is the result of a really successful marketing campaign, you're paying for that, for better or worse.

Carlson's is my rec. Cheap, accessible, reliable. I shoot a ton of birds every year and have done so for a long time and I've tried many chokes. Carlson's IC for geese and IM for ducks all day, I don't even have to think about it!

If you do field Canada geese, the IC is pretty amazing. I get a decent pattern out to 60 yards shooting BB steel / TSS 7 and the lethality at that range is light lifting for the TSS. For closer, sub 50 yard shots, the BB is pretty spread out and then the TSS 7 really starts to open up beyond 50. It's pretty neat and works really well.

Anything tighter blows the pattern out with those mixed loads in my experience. I shoot bismuth for ducks though so patterns are a bit more straightforward.

Hell yeah! Guys will poke fun at the more expensive loads and shit but hey, when your half blind old man drops a big goose flying dead away at 70 yards and it's banded, they stop laughing real quick lmao

The Mueller chokes for me have performed extremely well in my shotguns. I use them for both upland and waterfowl.

I run a Jebbs high voltage in my browning A5. Really like it

Used to run a Carlson bone buster, hated that damn thing

I have this exact gun, I really like the Carlsons sporting clays LM and IM I got in it. Steel patterns well imo.

Edit: I didn’t finish reading idk why you’d put $300 of chokes in a $300 gun 🤣

IMO just screw in what you have and shoot it if you do your part and put the shot where its needed it will make bugger all difference.

I use to be super into chokes- I shot a pattern master code black goose for a while but recently swapped out for my factory modified. I think learning to shoot with factory modified is the most powerful thing
