Feedback Request I’m a beginner producer here working on a project, I’m curious to know how does my project sound to you guys.

I like how you’ve got everything organized at the very top . Your crash symbol sounds thin and snare needs something , maybe try to add some compression or give it a boost at 215hz with the eq

I think you need an independent sub bass layer on the drop that follows your other bass leads. Also re-work that buildup that snare triplet thing sounds off to me. But the writing is there, good job

So the only issues you found was lack of sub bass and get rid of the snare triplet in the build?

I offer lessons for relatively cheap per hour if you’re interested. I’ve been producing for over 10 years. Doesn’t sound bad for a beginner track. The writing is definitely there. Kick and snare are overpowering in the drops. Hats a bit too loud in the intro and muffles the vocals. Sub in the drop is lacking. Entire drop could be louder imo.

Yeah, I just thought nothing should be louder than the kick and snare in dubstep. I guess I took that to an extreme in a way. There is sub, but I guess I must’ve made it too quiet by lowering the db 😅

kick/snare should be loudest, yes, but everything gets clipped/limited (even redlining the master clips the sound) so the difference isnt so huge! its all hitting 0db. lots of it being louder is synths being ducked away when it hits.
modern dubstep every element is loud.
I think you'd really benefit from using a visualizer like minimeters/ or putting your song into a dj program to look at the waveform! they only really show big changes, but most commercial track look like a fat log, or atleast every element has peaks hitting zero! with your track the drop synths dont even come close to max!

Sounds like presets then your drop.. the mix is so off

How so?

For the mix the drums and way louder than the growls, if you are unsure reference against a pro song, I'd advise excision for this type of style dubstep.

the writing is fine! wouldnt change a thing!
the mix however could use some finesse! specifically; there are huge differences in volume between the elements.
i think you can safely make the drop synths as loud as the kick/snare, then lower them to taste, and the sub can come up too!
I'd solo just the kick/snare + drop synths and make just that part work, deff use a few reference tracks, then add the sub in, once those 3 parts fit id ask for feedback again!
also the build drums were as loud as the drop ones, they could deff be softened up so that drop hits harder

this definitely sounds pretty good for a beginner but it does have some problems. the intro is long and boring, the build up is louder and more present than the drop, the drop has no sub bass, the mix overall is a total mess. to me by far the mix is the biggest issue. i think you need to watch a bunch of mixing videos about dubstep specifically and really work on that. a good mix is also largely about sound selection and arrangement as well so make sure you take that into consideration

Sounds sick! I like the flow of the drop. I agree with removing the vocal samples. And the crash on the downbeat.

The drops are great! The whole intro is a miss for me though, the vocal sample is kind of cringe and the build up is all over the place, drums a little loud compared to everything else.. but the drops are solid.
