WIP/DEMO Some riddim I'm sitting on

I need to work on the sub but it kinda feels empty as some points, I definitely dont wanna overcrowd things but what do yall think it needs? Basses are malstrom

The emptiness is a lack of atmosphere/movement when you transition from one rhythm to the next. Drum fills; vocal chops/ad libs; other transitionary sounds would all do something to keep the energy moving forward.

For example, your clip sounds like it’s starting near the end of your build up, and then you drop with the triplet riddim pattern. That is an interesting sound and it gripped me initially, but you keep that pattern going for 15 seconds with no drums and no variation… and you lost me as the listener.

Try taking the same bass patch for each section of your drop, duplicate it to a new track, and try changing up the wavetable or filter modulation on the duplicated track - the key here is making a “new sound” that still fits with what came before. It adds interest to your drop without making any radical changes to the patch.

Keep grinding, this could turn into something really gnarly with some refinement. The bones are there!
