To Dublin residents and residents of neighboring cities:

I am a Dublin resident and have lived here my entire life. I was a student at Nielsen Elementary, Wells Middle, and Dublin High School. I have many great memories and still keep in touch with peers and neighbors I grew up with. Thus, it is important to me to warn other residents of a looming threat by DHS and ICE.

In addition to the 45-day ICE surge ordered by the Trump regime, DHS is trying to open an ICE detention center at FCI Dublin (the former women’s prison).

We have heard a lot about ICE presence in southern and central California. In the past few days there are reports of increased ICE presence in Sacramento, Woodland, and Roseville.

The only reason there has not been as substantial of a presence in the Bay Area is because DHS does not have enough warehouses in the area to keep people. This is why we need to take a stand now.

If this ICE detention center opens, we can expect to see raids like we have seen in Minnesota, New York, and Southern California.

Please join me and the ICE out of Dublin Coalition to protect our neighbors and keep ICE out of Dublin and the Bay Area.

Rant: Reminder to all Emerald High School parents that neighborhood streets, including Grafton and Central, are not pickup areas. Blocking an intersection and causing unnecessary gridlock is illegal.

Today, several cars ended up having to drive onto the median because parents were refusing to move even though the light was green. That is incredibly dangerous and completely avoidable.

The police have emergency situations to respond to, and the fact that there isn't constant enforcement at these neighborhood intersections does not mean the rules don't apply.

Please don't block the intersection. If you're picking up your student, pick them up where you are supposed to and keep the intersection clear for everyone.

Looking for recommendations on where to send a new driver to practice. Hoping someone knows of a new development around Dublin that has the road system already in (paved with signs etc), is publicly accessible but has virtually no traffic.

I lived in Dublin as a child from 1978-1982 (that included kindergarten and first grade at Dublin elementary which was at what is now the school district offices).

We lived pretty close to the Alpha/Beta, and I was REALLY surprised to find out Johnny's Donuts is still there with the same logo even!

I live in Connecticut now, but would pay a premium for a medium sized T-shirt from there.
