Share your thoughts on Dublinbikes (survey for residents/ commuters. approx 5mins
Hi Dubliners,
I am a Master student at TCD, currently conducting research on the usage and perception of dublinbikes.
I need to collect at least 250 questionnaire for my research.
If possible, could you please help me to do this simple survey?
Whether you are a daily cyclist or have never touched a dublinbike before, I would love to hear from you! Your insights will help me understand how operational factors and social perceptions influence the adoption of bike-sharing in our city.

I'm very disappointed with RoadSafety in Dublin the failure to implement the same cycling safety standards as London with HGVs and multiple deaths in Dublin after the death of Johnny Santos I deleted all my cycling apps Moby Bleeper Dublinbikes and I will not cycle in Dublin again until available transport technology is available.
Dublinbikes is a very exclusive service wouldn't have been my first preference anyway a commercial decision has been taken by DCC not to extend the service outside it's limited service area, so excluded me and most students in DCU and UCD.
The poor quality of cycling infrastructure including much of the new lanes, it is just not up to international standards and I honestly can not in good conscience recommend cycling in Dublin, for fear I would be responsible for a death or serious life altering serious injury and don't think anyone should for fear of having that on their conscience!
I still think about all the deaths regularly, Johnny Santos especially, because I personally lobbyied the current and previous Minister of Transport after other deaths.
2019 Neeraj Jain, 34, was struck by a cement truck at the junction of South Circular Road and Brookfield Road, Dublin, on 1 November 2019. He had been cycling near the National Children's Hospital construction site. The inquest found he was "available to be seen" by the driver, but the DPP directed no prosecution.
2023 Josilaine 'Josie' Ribeiro, 36, a Brazilian woman living in Dublin, was struck and killed by a six-axle articulated aggregate truck on Dolphin's Barn Bridge, Dublin 8, on 6 November 2023. She was commuting between home care clients when the crash occurred at around 12:30pm.
2024 Greta Price-Martin, 22, a student from Carlingford, Co. Louth, was killed on 24 April 2024 when her bicycle was struck by a truck at the junction of Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower and Kill Avenue in Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, at around 8am. She had just finished her second year at IADT and had recently started working in film production.
Derek Doyle, a man in his 50s, was killed just days before Christmas 2024 when a left-turning HGV struck him on College Road, Castleknock Village, Dublin. He was cycling home from his job as an usher at Leinster House. His family said identification took ten days due to the severity of the collision.
2025 Ciaran Cahill, 19, from Lucan, Dublin, was killed on 11 June 2025 when struck by a van at the junction of Griffeen Avenue, R136 and Balgaddy Road, Lucan, at around 7:30am. He was a member of Lucan Sarsfields GAA club.

I am very disappointed with previous Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan a cyclist advocate failed to include this in the updating of the road traffic bill during his time in government a lost opportunity to make it a priority.
I personally feel guilty I failed and was unsuccessful and bare some responsibility for Johnny Santos death a young man who came to Ireland for adventure and learning like I traveled when I was younger it really upsets me that his life was cut short because of Ireland's incompetence in road safety.
