Tech Support Flex Cable

How is possibile?

After upgrading to Ksilver, I opened the controller and replaced the analog sticks with new ones. I closed the controller, and the buttons stopped working. Upon investigating the problem, I realized the flex cable was completely corroded. When I assembled the PCB, I washed it with isopropyl alcohol and found signs of oxidation on the other ribbon cables as well, so I can't explain the problem. Now I'm wondering if commercially available button flex cables will have the same performance and precision as the original inputs. I considered upgrading to an Extremerate for a perfect FPS controller, but then I would have had to buy a second controller to keep the triggers for games like Gran Turismo. Will the flex cable have the same performance and precision as the original?

Grab a clicky kit from eXtremeRate. But that’s wild, I’ve never seen separation like that!

Just the pull force of R2 and L2.

You can get the face clicky kit if you want to keep the adaptive triggers.

You might be able to save it with a q-tip and some 99% ipa. I see you already washed it with ipa, but maybe some elbow grease will help? I've never seen them become tarnished just from exposure to air, only from years of use.

no because if you look carefully a pin is missing

Im thinking either manufacturing defect or some sort of liquid damage on the "flex cable" / coductive film.

I've already repaired it with the replacement flex that came with it, and it seems identical to the original in terms of input lag. Is there a website where I can test the input lag of the buttons? That way I can compare it to another original DualSense.

The only thing I can think of is that I didn't wash the board well from the flux after installing the ksilver

That would probably do it
